Having said that, I would recommend you to have a conversation with your account leadership to see if you can build a workaround that works for your team.
In our teams we try to balance our project work to be around 45 hours per week. If we know we are going over, we adjust that Friday. But I recognize it is a workaround and we really don’t have system in place to officially handle these overages and other PRD activities as a firm.
Are you salary or hourly? Was the hiring manager upfront in the interviews about the evening/ weekend OT and overloaded schedule?
Not your fault. You assumed that was true and didn’t need to dig deeper. I’d mention this to whomever you report to. Is your comp decent? Do you get a year end bonus?
In my corp, if you’re salary you work if/when the work requires. But we also take additional personal days on an honor system.
