I’m a fifth year associate, parent of two young kids, working from home, with a spouse who is also working, in a tiny apartment. Advice on... IDK... general survival?

I feel your pain, but only one kid and that’s a lot to handle. I’m going to be that guy on the BCC except I don’t have a nanny to drag my kids out of the room while I’m on a video conference

You and your spouse need to agree on "me" time for each other every day. We are on day 10 of confinement, and it has been ok because we give each other a couple hours alone each day.

We have also been doing.. uh.. something... More. Let us say that vasectomy I got a while back was a great investment.

Hi girls,

I joined the current company when I was about 2 months pregnant and they were extremely welcoming.. My baby is now 2+ years and we are planning to have another baby soon. What are your views on opting for the maternity leaves 2nd time within 3.5 years of joining the company? Would it reflect badly on me? Btw, I'm a high perfomer at my company and have also had a promotion recently. I am feeling too guilty but baby no.2 is also a priority given the age factor and the fertility concerns

How long did you wait to tell your boss you’re pregnant? I’m 7 and a half weeks pregnant and have a subchorionic hematoma so my doctor has been doing twice weekly scans to monitor because of my previous miscarriages. It’s obviously affecting my availability and I want to tell my boss but I don’t know if it’s the right decision.

What to do for a spouse who is struggling emotionally but refuses to get professional help?
I’m 17 weeks pregnant with our first. My husband is really struggling with emotional/ mental health. I’ve asked him to consider counseling or other medical alternatives. Instead, he wants to talk to me until 11:30 pm or 12 am at night. I want to be there for him but I can’t. I’m tired. I’m still working VERY full time, and I was just diagnosed with early onset preeclampsia 😫

Hi all, if you’re a mid or senior copywriter in LA looking to join an advertising/entertainment/tech startup on the ground floor, give a shout. You’ll be writing everything from ads featuring celebrities to blog posts, videos, ads for our platform, and probably a few hundred other things. You’ll also work with our parent company, a premier Hollywood production/management company. The role is partially remote (come for key meetings and brainstorms but work remote other days). One of my friend was asked to resign because she got pregnant . They specifically told her that they have strict policies and need complete commitment and you are not fit for the current role owing to your health. They have a king rule from management side and treat their employees as daily wage labor . Very bad HR and management

Any good detox diets that good to try out and not horrroble for your body? I want to curb some sugar cravings and bad eating habits over the past year. Has anyone done one they liked? I was thinking of starting a 3 day detox then go into 7days of a white meat/fruit cleanse for a week. Then just stop eating like a complete child on holiday after those are done 😅 any advice on what helped you get past the cravings and level set would be helpful! I heard good things about keto but like options.

Rant: I finally got a baby registry started and sent the link to family... and immediately was told all the things I need on there that I don't have (including things I'm opting to just NOT GET, like an electric pump - why is my nursing preference up for debate????). I hate it already. I'm tempted to take it down, buy it all myself and just tell people to start a college fund if it bothers them.

I'm 38, have had 4 miscarriages and the PRESSURE OF THIS PREGNANCY is unreal.

Is it a red flag as a candidate to ask if a company offers maternity leave? I was recently laid off, so I wasn't expecting to lose my job. We're planning on trying for a baby in the next year or so, so it's really important to me that my next job offers paid maternity leave.

The issue is that it's so rarely advertised on company web sites, but ultimately better maternity leave would sway my decision for a job. Is there a way to ask this tactfully? Or without raising red flags?

Mother has a decent nest egg ($3M) and lives in an extremely LCOL area. Currently manages money through RBC, however the fees are a gross operating expense of 0.36%. What do you all recommend? I’m not savvy enough to manage it myself however I know that fees can stack up and kill returns. Would appreciate any insight/advice/snark.

My husband yells at me in front of my 2 years old, even when he is scared. He needs to express his anger out before he can shut down. I am planning to leave him but I am hesitant because I am afraid this would negatively impact my son more, not having a father figure around much.... not the first time, my husband promises multiple time that at least he would control his anger in front of kid but never Lee up the promise...sometimes he would even throw stuff (not at me and my child)...

Has someone ever questioned your decision to join the military? I always argue about it with my father. He believes you must be a little crazy to join the forces and withstand the things you see while deployed. I always tell him he must be crazy too for being a dentist. Why would you want to put your hands inside someone's mouth all day?

Currently struggling with lack of motivation. I’m in my 3rd year at my firm and when I started I was hitting 9+ billable per day before I left the office. Is it okay that I’ve been a slow junior as we’re hours away from closing? I’m trying to be proactive and available to cross things off the list but I’m SLOW: takes me long enough that they do it themselves (even though this wasn’t an issue earlier in the deal) and even on quick tasks or emails, they respond to it before I can click send.
