I’m have a new theory about why juniors always feel like idiots and wanted to see if anyone else thinks this makes sense. I’m a third year, and am the most junior person all of my teams (generally me, a senior or two, and a partner or two), and I always feel like I’m messing something up. Is this just because I never get to work with other juniors and don’t see the mistakes they make, and that it’s relatively normal? And FWIW I went to HYS and I’ve had a clerkship so it’s not like I’m not smart
Very hard.

Pretty hard to get fired sub 2 years at a firm. Even if that happens, lateral elsewhere and start the 2 year process again. All of a sudden you'll be a 4-6th year and prime to leave law or big law in general.
Exactly. Never quit. Wait to get asked to leave.
Pretty much impossible. You have to do really bad things to get fired. I’ve never seen it happen. It sounds like you’re just being pretty harsh on yourself. Believe me, you will be doing a better job than you think. I’ve seen complete airheads get to as a high as counsel or partner, you’ll be fine.
This was reassuring - thank you!!
I’m pretty bad at the job but I’m also just staying 2-3 years until I get my loans below six figures.
i feel the same & i’m a 4th year lol i clerked my first 2 years out of law school so i definitely feel behind.
Yeah - it’s definitely not a great feeling…
1st year at my firm got asked to leave after billing zero hours for 3 months straight. She had a “talking to” after month two, and didn’t get things into gear. If you’re billing something, and trying - I’m sure you’re fine
& she just lateraled to another firm. Way to get paid for 9 months for doing nothing.
