I'm a first-year in an administrative practice (electricity) at a V25. What can someone hyper-specialized like me do after biglaw? Should I jump to corp/lit (I do a little of both) before it's too late, or try to do more work in those practices?

Hi all - I’m an IT project manager here in the investment and asset management space in Toronto. I am looking at recent job postings for Google Product managers and not sure how I can better align myself. I have experience implementing and supporting SaaS ERP solutions (Yardi, Workday), business systems analysis and product road mapping. I’m an MIS grad and also hold my PMP, DASM and CSM. I’ve tried for years at the big 4, but product managers are a hot field right now. Any advice on pivoting?

Been working at a startup law firm doing transactional work and recently the partner of another firm doing private defense litigation has attempted to scalp me with a base pay well above my current. I'm an experienced attorney (16 years), worked in government, small/medium firms, been a solo. I'm also looking to get out of family/immigration law and go into labor/insurance defense/litigation. According to BCG I'm a terrible candidate for lateral positions and was told that recruiters would never work with me. However, I still get emails/text messages that they want to work with me. WTH?!?!

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?

My total comp is 450k. Is that good for 10 years out? Can I get more as an IC?

What are salaries like for class of 2019 in am law 50-100. I have average working attorney collections as high as our senior associates but I’m only making 215k. Trying to see what salary I should ask for.
