I’m a gay POC. However, I am seeing a lot of negative effects and marketing with the BLM movement. Why are people saying that riots and looting is part of the process? My family and friends are being negatively effected. Grocery stores closed in neighborhoods where rioters go through. And it’s the diverse neighborhoods where a lot of this is happening. Then you have inflammatory responses from both sides and nobody sees the peaceful protests. And then the community is asked for donations to gelp

And I hate to be a consultant right now but I want to know “what’s in scope”? what are the grievances and how can we act on them. Endless battle will lead to everybody loosing. We need stop making everything inflammatory and build a solution together.


I’m not always on the conservative side of the fence, but inflammation is a part of healing. It may not always be productive, but the peaceful measures sadly did not get as much attention or traction in forcing eyes and ears onto the issue of the devaluation of Black life in America via the police state (in this occasion).

You’re in consulting. How do riots translate to black people not being shot? “Defund the police, stop killing black people, black lives matter”. Those are not steps to stop racism. This is not a solipsistic situation and you need to change policies and enable more discussions and conscious acts. Not destruction


I also see you bullsh*t Deloitte 1. You’re confirming if my logic makes sense based on skin color. So if I was to say I wasn’t black, my opinion on the matter wouldn’t matter? Is this how we are having conversations now?

By definition no. POC refers to any race other than white.

just told I need to reduce my charge hours from 45 to 40 / week. Not reducing my work scope, just amount of time I can charge. I know I shouldn't be angry, given that the bench is huge, but still sad

I’m burnt out. Biglaw six years and got pushed out. Now at a midsize firm. I work more than I used to and getting paid 1/3 less. Work is not bad at all and the firm culture is great. I never wanted to become a lawyer to start with but now I’m stuck here. If I switch to a completely new profession, I would have to start over. My hubby’s financials are not great and I feel I’m obligated to stay at my firm job to make it work. I really don’t know what to do...
