I'm a human resources coordinator and I make below the bottom line for someone in my position. My boss put in a raise for me 2 months ago. She just asked that I get paid the starting rate for my role. Nothing extravagant but they have not given us an answer yet. What should I do?

What can I say to get them to give me the range first and then I can state if that works for me or not?

Hello FishBowl,

I’m in the final rounds of my interview process for a NYC Hedge fund, non tech role. The recruiter mentioned the compensation package is bonus heavy which can be multiples of base salary. Though they will guarantee a full bonus (sign on + year end) for my first year. 300k target

My current role/company is salary focused so I’m out of my element negotiating the bonuses.

What type of questions should I ask the recruiter about the bonus payouts? Vesting?

To those who have an HSA and who are able to cap the contributions each year, what account balance would you need in order to not cap the contributions, or to no longer contribute at all? Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

When I first got my job 3 years ago I settled with the title I have now (Marketing Coordinator) even though it’s not really fitting. I’m the sole marketer for 3 companies. I have 7 years of experience and answer only to the C-suite. I’m honestly juggling more work than 1 person should be doing and that makes my title/salary ($54K/yr) seem insufficient. What I’m wondering is, am I being unreasonable wanting a better title/salary and does my title really matter when asking for a higher salary?

So, I should be negotiating for my pay soon for my Administrative Assistant job. Currently making 13/hr as a Temp to Hire in the position. Research for State, National, and Industry averages has been mostly unhelpful because they're all different. The lowest Average is 35k, and the Highest average is 45k. How can I try to convince my boss that I'm worth the 45k? Especially since it would be an over 50% pay increase.

6 years at a start up and the first to break through Mm and now Ent accounts. I broke the comp plan. I was paid a lower commission rate as the first rep hitting high numbers. The guys behind me they adjusted commission rates and spiffed them to equal and in some cases surpass my pay. My revenue as the top rep is a full third higher than the number 2 rep. To save their asses they promoted me and gave me a small base bump but kept my commissions % low so that my high number was my new at plan.
