I’m a junior M&A attorney who doesn’t have a background in business/finance. Any book recommendations for someone to learn more about some key concepts like NWC, financial statements, disclosure schedules, or the deal process in general?

For just terminology, Latham has a book of jargon that is publicly available I think

like

Just found it through a google search! Very helpful! Thanks!

Make the deal (Bloomberg BNA) and mergers & acquisitions A to Z are both very good for deal process and considerations, jargon, main docs, industry practices, general finance stuff etc. The nitty gritty financial stuff is harder to learn from a book, that just comes with experience!

Any particular segment of sales good for ex-finance? Currently 3 years in at fortune 100 bank on business development side (on commercial loan originations team but no commission/targets at the associate level, basically do credit analysis and build pitch books for the producers) This role has been great as I have gotten both analytical experience and tasted sales experience (I say taste bc I’m not the producer) but would potentially like to transition to a sales role that is less analytical

I need some insight. Just had a phone interview for a management job in healthcare. I felt comfortable and felt like the interview went well. I ask questions and the ACNO said that I asked great questions. They said that they had other interviews to do as well but said the next step is to bring me in for an on-site interview (I live 1,000 miles away) and that the recruiter would be reaching out. Thoughts? I’m going to drive myself crazy analyzing everything.
