Keep easing into it, and focus on authentically moving conversations forward with questions when you get stuck. I would also recommend debriefing with your manager for constructive feedback as much as possible after these calls! Lastly, if there’s an opportunity to shadow similar calls led by others with more time spent in the role, I can’t imagine a better way to learn!

It takes time to get up to speed. Don’t discount yourself too early on. The more exposure you have, the quicker you’ll ramp up. Have you tried notating any questions or barriers you face in external conversations? You can use this info and debrief with your manager after each interaction. Also, don’t be afraid to bring this up to your manager in your 1:1s! They may just need to provide a bit more enablement/training so you’re comfortable taking point.
