If there is anything science taught you it is-
@other BD folks at Deloitte KPMG EY PwC - how technical are you? I got brought in to sell a tech heavy solution that combines Red Hat, Salesforce, Service Now and I feel like I’m WAY out of my depth. I’m hitting numbers now but still have a heavy dose of imposter syndrome.
Any tips on how to get more technical? Or how to manage as a non-technical person in a very technical space??

Figure. Out. What. She. Wants.
Can't say this enough, from the ring to the proposal, this entire sequence is about her. She's the one that has to wear it (for life), and she's the one that you're hoping to get a memorable reaction out of.
Have those conversations before making any moves. Be on the same page for budget and style, and be on the same page for private/public location for the proposal.
Or go the Pinterest route, just get intel somehow. My wife preferred a really intricate setting over a glamorous stone...saved me some money. She preferred a private proposal with her parents nearby...saved me some money. She's happy, I'm happy; win-win. Worst case scenario is that your gf wants a year's salary on her hand and a tv-worthy proposal...which you wouldn't have come up with anyway, so why chance it?
Don't be a hero here, stay the course.
I'm glad my SO is more the type who likes to feel like she's wearing a work of art. She's into fantasy and Norse myth, so I got her a silver and gold band for much less than you spend on a rock, but she loved it that much more.
Does she have a personal style? Is she chic? Grand? Minimal? What ring reminds you of her? I think it'll be more special if you invest on the meaning rather than spending on the most expensive one.
