Can try PE Opps
I think buy side investment roles will be a challenge because you don’t have investment experience. PE opps or internal PE may be easier though.
Should also mention that the firm you’re at is v important. If you’re MBB that helps regardless of what you’re doing because of the prestige which PE cares about a lot. If Big 4 non deals very very hard I would say but nothing is impossible!
Yes you can find roles on LinkedIn. It will be very difficult to pivot to deal side. Possible if you jump to another fund, maybe LMM but candidly, unlikely
Coach
Why not go work for the fund you set up to be in the early deal team and say the role doesn’t matter?
Lots of winks, tell them you like how they smell, normal stuff like that you know
Yeah seems like your best fit would be for a Portfolio Operations Senior Associate position
Thanks for quick revert. How should I apply? Are these roles available on LinkedIn? And any chance to move into deals team couple of years later?
What firm are you at? This is exactly what I want to do one day.
Haha, I'm at a boutique Management consulting firm that does a lot of run of the mill consulting things - distribution strategy, rev improvement, profitability, bpr, cost redn, hr initiatives, digital work, etc.
We were lucky to get shortlisted for this work thru an RFP route and beat EY Parthenon and Accenture strat in the RFP. But this is the first time we've done such work, it's not our bread and butter.
