McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

I've been told applying for more than 4 positions (some firms 2) can red flag you in HR systems and hurts your chances. It might just be heresy, hopefully someone from HR can step in and confirm/deny
You should take the offer you have.
Sure. In fact, you might have better chances once you've got some actual real-world experience under your belt. By the way, Big 4 isn't the be all and end all. You might find you do well and enjoy working at other firms instead.
I'd think you'd be a more enticing hire with experience at any prestigious consulting firm. You're less green than all other college grads applying at that point. Think of it as a marathon, not a sprint!
@BRC I’m pretty sure I’m going to! I just wanted to post on here since I’m new to the community and thought someone might have some advice for my future endeavors.
Would u mind sharing the name of the firm or some other info? “Well known but less prestigious” can mean different things for different ppl
A1 It’s with Slalom as an AC
On that note, how is Slalom’s reputation within the consulting industry?
To work for or the product they produce? I've heard great things about their work culture. Can't say I've come across clients that have used them in the past but my field isn't one they are a major player in
SA1 Thank you so much for this. I have honestly loved the recruiting process with Slalom and am really excited to potentially join their firm. Not even planning an exit soon after, just noticed a lot of my peers having a bit more luck than me with Big 4 and thought I’d ask :)
Thank you all so much!
Give it a shot, OP. After all, it's not all about the experience. Sure you will have a higher chance, but don't let it stop you from applying.
