It’s not the lack of MBA, I think it’s more lack of YOE which a lot companies care about (including tech). It may be doable if you find something where you can contribute a ton of expertise (maybe former client) and they really value consultants. Or if you’re good at data some DS positions will pay more than your typical S&O jobs.

I left at the exact same experience last year and had an offer from a HF that paid in that range. Otherwise best I found (outside of tech) was $300k TC but was in FS. Real, real tough sell at that experience level if you go a F500 route.

Agree with BCG1, it’s more the years of experience vs MBA. If you can stick it out to AP I think that would help your exits, it will even things out slightly vs more tenured people

I want to hear everyone's honest opinions on unlimited PTO policies. Call me old-fashioned, but I miss having an allotted number of days we were allowed to use annually. Seems like there are no companies following that model anymore. Unlimited PTO messes with my head and for some reason I get more paranoid about what people are thinking if I do.

Is there a substantial disadvantage being at a DD heavy non-MBB firm (LEK, EYP) compared to MBB for PE recruiting? Would it be worth lateraling to MBB 1 year out of undergrad for better PE exit opps or is the difference not enough to warrant starting again at entry level at MBB?

Looks like a massive Exodus happened in Deloitte? Trying to staff a project and there is literally no one to staff with (at least Salesforce practice) and we are having to reach out to contractors. Is this a result of layoffs that happened last year and folks are purely unhappy with pay (not considering project pressure as that can vary/be subjective)? For folks who have been here for a long time, is this a common occurrence or is it especially bad this time around?

I am noticing that McKinsey is increasingly recruiting at non-elite schools (very roughly speaking not top 15 schools). At my old undergrad, 5 years ago the most competitive firm to show up was EY. This year McKinsey took 4 non-internship full hires. Why is McKinsey going “down market” for recruiting? Are elite school kids losing interest in consulting so McK has to cast a wider net? Or is McK seeking a wider pool for other reasons? I advise undergrads on consulting so want to be best informed.
