I’m a mid level lit associate. Headed out on a vacation tomorrow and feeling guilty leaving my case team behind who are all drowning. I know vacations need to be respected, but is it ok to feel this way?

As someone who is lower on the totem pole, we’re paid to help you … and now, your vacation is a time to help yourself! Come back rested and recharged, and put that value back into your team.

It’s ok. Not the way I’d feel. But ok.

It’s understandable but it only hurts you to care in this situation

It’s completely normal to feel this way but it’s ultimately the firm’s problem to ensure sufficient staffing such that coverage is available as needed for associates going on vacation, and otherwise rest of team picks up slack. And I’m assuming you have in the past, and in the future will be covering for someone else going on vacation when you already have a full plate. It comes with the territory.

Definitely been in the situation where roles are reversed, but just a bit awkward/uncomfortable knowing so much is happening. I actually planned my trip to be leaving the day after a big filing was fine, but of course the schedule got extended at the last second.

Hi Ladies - Trying to decide when to officially go on leave. I was thinking two weeks before I’m due but everyone keeps telling me to work up until the due date to have more time at the end with the baby. I’m honestly just tired of working and barely get any sleep at this point. Wouldn’t mind having some me time (I have 5 months leave) but also realize the baby could come early. Let me know your thoughts!

Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!

If someone can verify this? I have seen so many posts here and on Quora too, that TCS release the salary structure breakup after the interview rounds, but do not send the offer letter, even after acceptance of salary. The HR person won't deny you on the face, but keep on delaying that offer letter release would take time. Is this true? Do a reputed company like TCS make such fake promises or raise false hopes in candidates?
