No wisdom here but I hear you and that sounds very annoying. I hope you find a way to improve the situation, or that it's over soon and you move on to work with better people!

Lol happened to me when I switched firms. My male staff liked to over step and not really take me serious. If you’ve worked with this person for at least a week just be like can we please set some time do discuss your performance thus far and basically just let him know that’s your working style and during that meeting point out the things he does great and then the things he could improve on. Then emphasize that this is his promo year and that your not being a B but that you want him to succeed. That way you’re not being completely mean but getting your point across. That has worked for me successfully
I would be direct and have a conversation (via phone not thru ping). This may be reaching but maybe he just doesn’t know that he’s doing it. Some people are just oblivious to their actions.
