I asked TCS for a salary renegotiation, they agreed and they sent the new salary breakup, But they are not sending the revised offer letter, Whenever I ask them they are saying it's in the clearance process you'll receive shortly.
But my date of joining is on Monday, HR is telling me to join & they'll send the updated offer letter within 7 days of my joining, can we trust these words, Has anyone faced a similar situation?Tata Consultancy

How senior is the other associate? If you are essentially a first year and they are an ex-biglaw senior who had a good year, that discrepancy doesn’t ring alarm bells for me at all. If you meant they’re just a year or two *to you,* possibly it’s a different story.
Thanks for the advice much appreciated.
I was running out of space but wanted to mention that my “screw up” was ultimately remedied and otherwise was awful on my first research assignment (transactional practice). I hadn’t done legal research since law school and have since done much better each time I’ve been asked. One partner who I work with the most, has a specific reputation and happens to be the one I screwed up with the most. Another is much more relaxed and seems to like me.
Also, on the topic of pay, the other two associates are former big law but I feel the pay discrepancy between myself and them is way too big and the bonus discrepancy feels unacceptable.
Thanks for both responses. I am currently interviewing to find out what my value is on the market. The recruiter I’m working with said she considers me a mid-level associate (leaving details on my pre-bar jobs out to maintain anonymity) but I’ve gotten interest from a few firms. Just not sure I want to leave yet first because I have jumped around a fair bit prior to this job and also things are good at my current firm otherwise, so I may see about asking for raises.
Any advice on how to go about doing that? Is it reasonable to do so prior to my next review or do I need to wait? I’ve got plenty of professional experience but law firm “rules” seem to be a little different. Appreciate it again.
