I’m a personal/commercial producer with about 2 years of experience. If you are a producer, curious to know what your compensation is like? New vs renewals? Book size? Do you service too or only sell? Thanks in advance!

40/25 is the usual normal. Renewal % can go up as your book grows. No service.

We pay typically $50k in annual salary for licensed P&C account managers with 2-3years experience. They can earn commission for new and renewal business that they generate at a rate of about 25%. Their focus is service but are expected to increase their books overall revenue, cross sell accounts and maintain 90% retention. They service about 800 policies a year.

Got an interview as a marine superintendent at the port of NY/NJ - their beginning salary isn’t as great as I thought it would be - 60K but they told me after 6 months of employment we get 12K bonuses divided over 12 months. So salary would be $72K. I asked someone who works there and they told me bonuses depends on how the terminal is operating, sometimes its less. Are they being misleading with the salary ? How can I get them to guarantee the bonuses after 6 months of employment ?

Hi all,

Hoping someone could advice on it. I recently accepted a job offer and it has been discussed and confirmed via email/phone that my starting salary is £26k and will raise to £28k after 6 months probationary period. Now, I have been sent the contract but there’s no specific statement about the £28k salary after probation.

It might be a stupid question but I am worried about raising this as an issue. Is this normal? Or is it better to ask for a revised contact with the specifics?

Backstory:
I joined a top 20 freight brokerage as a pricing analyst about 6 months ago and keep hearing from my direct lead (c-level) that I have basically moved mountains for this new team I joined.

I’ve streamlined processes that has led to lower operational costs as we don’t need to hire ops team members now. With this I have the quantitative data to back it up.

Is their any risk on employer doing recruitment phase for PERM before the PWD has been approved?

Is it weird to send a text the day after getting drinks with someone saying you enjoyed hanging out and want to hang out again?

Got drinks with a guy and it went incredibly well (talked for nearly 5 hours), but I met him in person instead of on an app (where meeting up is clearly defined as a date) so I’m not entirely sure if we both considered it a date? Don’t want to send a text and have him be weirded out, but also want to make it known that I want to be more than friends.

I don’t use dating apps for dating. I match w/men & quickly move to text. A week later, we meet. I analyze their psychological makeup, set boundaries (only kissing). They want to meet again. I can’t. So we connect via text/video calls. I show my vulnerabilities, insecurities. They open. Trust is built. Subtly, I help them face their blindspots (mostly emotions little boys are taught to repress). Friendship replaces romance & I gently release them back into the dating pool. This is my work.

My dilemma… I am an injury adjuster at a carrier experiencing high inventory that’s barely manageable. A competitor offered a higher salary and manageable workload. It’s lower than my current salary and significantly lower than what I’d make by taking the first offer. Do I take the high salary and stay in claims or go for UW in hopes it will be best in long run?
