I’m a public health educator planning to pivot to a career in instructional design. I’ve been taking LinkedIn Learning courses and have enrolled a mastermind course/community to gain an understanding of the lingo and theory, and eventually get practice with the commonly used tools. A lot of it mirrors health education but of course, there are nuances with eLearning delivery.

Is there anything you would recommend me to do to stand out as an applicant or be prepared for a role in ID?

I am interviewing for a new IT Manager position. I started putting out soft feelers and then hit the hunt harder. The problem: I have one offer and need to give an answer by next Wednesday. I have two other opportunities that are in final steps but probably won’t have offers by next Wednesday. Both of the other offers will be higher pay but clearly are uncertain for offers. Do I accept the offer I have, which is a good one or wait for the other two to finalize and possibly miss out altogether?

They stated 120k+ is extremely high for that role. What do you guys think? Playing the game?

Suppose you are 3 months pregnant and interviewing for a job. Would you disclose to the recruiter that you are expecting or is there no need to give that information until after being hired? As for the compensation, if you’ve already been told pre-interview, the salary range for the role, is it appropriate to negotiate a number for the salary if you are asked your desired salary in the first screening interview? Or should you try to hold off on the negotiation after you receive an offer?
