I’m a recent grad & began my first career as a marketing coordinator. It’s been quite frustrating to say the least. The company doesn’t understand the purpose of marketing, & recently hopped into the digital world - many of which don’t find it valuable. On the other hand, my manager assigns me lots of copy projects to do & either doesn’t give me informational feedback or completely disregards my work. Before I was hired, she knew exactly how my writing style was like but doesn’t use it. Help! :(

Sounds like the position isn’t a good fit. Maybe put some feelers out there for other positions that you’re interested in and where you can grow. Just know, your writing style will change from job to job. Don’t get stuck in “this is my style.”

I'd say it's not a bad look to leave a job after a short time as long as you don't make a habit out of it. Not every job is a good fit, so it's understandable. Just make sure you have a job lined up before you quit your current one

I work for a health system, so I completely relate to your struggles on getting buy-in for digital marketing tactics. We always have to throw in a print ad or a billboard, just so people feel like there's something they can see and wrap their heads around.

I don't know if this is part of your problem, but I've worked for several companies that had culture problems. Specifically, the culture was to treat marketing like an order taker and to drown the marketing team in vanity projects that didn't bring in revenue or advance the mission.

I found freelance marketing to be more rewarding in that sense. I get to be more selective with what clients I work with and they tend to be more appreciative of the value of my work

Would you leave your current PE firm for a more prestigious that pays $100k-150k more but you are working 20-30 hours more? Currently at a firm where I see a long term path and I work 40-50 hours. Struggling if I should go for prestige and work and larger deals at bigger firms or stay where I am now. If I don’t lateral now I won’t have a chance in the future/ much harder.

Hi, we're searching for a job in HR for my wife. She's an MBA from India and has 10 years of work experiences across various HR roles in FMCG and Tech. Her last role was a HR BP and India site lead for a US based semiconductor major.
Is CIPD necessary to get a comparable role in the UK? While we undersrand it's a new market, would she necessarily need to start from a basic role again? It's difficult to balance studies, work and manage a 2 y.o. Any pointers or job openings would be appreciated.

Regretting moving in-house. I was an 8th year associate at a v10 biglaw firm but moved in house six months ago and am regretting it. The pay has been hard to stomach but the bigger concern is that the hours and work are not what I expected. Is it too late to go back to a firm since I was so senior when I left? Should I just stick it out a while longer and then find a new in house job? Appreciate any advice.

Looking to move home after 4 years working abroad. No longer a Junior and feeling ready for the big city.

International experience. Multiple viral campaigns under my belt. Several pieces of metal. All really small budget work though, so there's definitely some gaps. Would love to chat if anyone's interested.

I'm really hoping to work with a passionate team.

Hi! I want to go back to working with other humans (in person) after a successful 10 yrs of freelance/remote Creative services on my own. I am excited about working for brand development agencies, but I keep reading that in my late 40s, advertising might not be the most welcoming scenario. Are there any suggestions for "mature" diverse agencies (any size) to check out in NYC? I'm a bilingual, hard-working AD/Designer with a ton of design management experience. Gracias!!
