I’m a relatively new AE at my company but only 1/3 hit quota and 1/3 of those people hit POE+. Is it worth it to stay? We’re about to hit the “busiest” month but with everything going on in the world right now I don’t see it picking up. What do you all recommend?

I have sales strategy and ops experience. There’s a problem with your go-to-market and comp structure (or product) if only 1/3 are meeting quota. Can the company not afford to hire enough AEs to meet demand? Surely customer experience is also suffering here.

I think if we cut the amount of AEs more would hit quota. I think quota which they recently raised is now unattainable for most and easy for the people with multiple territories.

If that's the case, I think it's time to start looking around

So I'm interviewing, have had loose salary conversation (talked about band but not specifics), and approaching the official offer stage. It's become clear the role is something I'm very well qualified for, but their pay expectations for the role are much lower than mine. How do I ask if I could be considered for a higher level position in the team in a higher salary band instead?

I am at a DoD focused startup that is drafting their military leave policy.

Our PTO is Flexible Leave = they don’t track days worked in return for days off

The draft military leave policy:
- 2 weeks of annual AT can be flex leave
- 2 days allocated a year for PT test

I previously worked at Deloitte and loved their military leave policy, so I am pushing for 2 weeks of AT allowed and 80 hours a year for travel to drill/medical appts/misc days you have to meet active counterparts.

Thoughts?

Has anyone ended up working for a prospect?

I just had a conversation with a CEO at a startup I admire, and the topic turned to sales hires.
