“Rising Senior” lol

I would start by removing "rising senior" from your vocabulary. It sounds a bit pretentious, no offense.

This takes the cake. I love it.

You should highlight your analytics experience on your resume. Your ability to deal with complex datasets and being tech savvy (risk modeling using sas/R etc.) is an indicator of your capability to deal with complex scenarios. The type of product you should focus on as an entry point would be those build by fintechs where you'd stand the best chance to show your skillset

I just got multiple offers as a senior in the product manager role - I curated my cv very carefully to highlight product related functions of my current position, and leaned heavily on my technical background to sell myself. Do you have implementation experience?

Thanks that is really helpful

Do you see any overlap from your experience with product management?

Yeah not to sound painfully obvious but your resume needs to communicate that you have product experience in order for recruiters to respond. Id look to try and switch projects at EY or launch a product yourself

Keep in mind APM programs at FAANG or known tech firms is the MBB of the tech world and you are competing against CS undergrads from target schools and MBB/ buy-side looking to exit I would push to hop to Program Manager at tech, APM at a small no name company, or at least Tier 2 consulting firm Once you have either a stronger brand (at least Tier 2 consulting) or relevant experience (Program Manager, Product at a start up) you can shift into APM Program Manger route sill probably be easier to reach product Best of luck! Possible without b-school

I’m not looking to get into FAANG tbh (is N Netflix?). I want to work at a midsize tech company at the level of the examples I’ve listed. Would also be open to early stage start ups, but they are always hard to find. Given I have minimal product experience I would prefer to have oversight in my role.

get some side products released whether it’s an app or site or something

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Ladies, I’ve noticed (pre-covid) that when men introduced each other or even when they enter the room they always shake hands with each other - even if they’ve known them/worked with them for months. But for myself, I may get a handshake on first day but never again. And I find it annoying like do you not think of me as your equal or do you think because I’m a woman I want a hug?? Has anyone else noticed this, or am I taking this the wrong way?

Currently pursuing a MBA, and am deciding which focus areas to take. I am trying to pivot from UX design to product in tech. Ideal sector: FinTech Current sector: Mobile Gaming Related sectors: Entertainment, Edutainment, e-Commerce, Social Aiming at head of product or head of design as long term goal. If only 2 focuses, would you pick Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Innovation, or Global Challenges in Business? Advice appreciated!

Hi everyone, I need your advice. I've been interviewing with MBB and Tier 2 firms over the past few years. However I was never well prepared for case studies. I now decided to take 6-8 months and seriously prepare for cases/mental math and try them again next year. I currently have Victor Chengs book and few others. What else would you recommend for me? How can i lay out a plan to study? Any source you can recommend free or paid?

Pro tip: finding it hard to disconnect while working from home? At the end of the day, actually power down your laptop and pack it away in your bag with your power cords, mouse, etc. same you would if you were leaving the office or traveling. Need to take it a step further? Also disable your email/Skype notifications on your phone so your not tempted to check them immediately. Happy Memorial Day weekend FB!

I’ve been interviewing and I’m running out of excuses for being out of the office randomly and without much notice. I’ve used doctor’s appointment, dentist, “personal reasons” and an emergency appliance issue. Any others people have used? I don’t have kids, so none of those will work. Had an interview scheduled for Tuesday just now.
