I have the opportunity to travel a few places domestically this fall back-to-back, but still have a lot of anxiety about the Delta variant despite being vaccinated … what to do? I have FOMO and have been dying to get back to traveling but now that it’s here, I’m hesitating
Seeking advice either from anyone already working for US GOV or any advice on how to get into it. I’m interested in working for IRS or Veterans with pm work. Any advice? I also want to help my dad get into a permanent GOV role before he needs to retire, he’s been rejected by gov roles and can only work travel roles with fema, I don’t want him traveling as he’s getting too old and I just lost my mom a year ago. Any help would be appreciated!
They credited my whole 3 night stay, but I went back and asked for points too. I feel like one company crediting another company isn't really making up for the fact that I may never sleep again
Corner king suite at the Ritz Carlton this week... Sure could be worse! I'll surely take these opportunities when I can get them
I am planning to move to Canada and have to give ielts.. 1) did you all give your ielts that is general training or the academic one. I know general training will suffice but checking if there are more points for academic one. E.g. same band/score in academic and GT but get more points in PR application if it's academic.

If you don't have those, get creative! To start, I created a fun list in Spotify. This is what I plan to use when I get my walk on! Can't wait to see yours! This challenge is worth 2 points and must be posted by Saturday 9 pm.
Does having a background in renewable energy give you extra points? I have heard rumours that adcoms want a certain % of intake to have experience in RE or climate change
Do you personally think it’s ok to travel while wfh without reporting it, given you’re obviously still getting your work done?
What hotel branch should I become loyal to? New joiner to consulting and was going to commit to Marriott but heard it’s getting bad..
Looks like my united status match is not gonna be completed by the time. Is there anyway to rebate? I am 4 segments short for gold and wonder if I can talk my way out
I work in a lean team. When it’s me + NSP + a senior partner on the deal, the senior partner refuses to speak to me directly and my work would go up the chain of command. The NSP + senior partner would discuss the rationale for certain positions in the key docs w/o explaining to me or speak to clients directly w/o me, and I’d be asked to send out the revised draft to the opp counsel. When I get calls from opp counsel on tougher points in the drafts, I’m not really able to answer. Is this normal?
Has anyone travelled to the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas since the pandemic started and can share their experience / recommendations? Booked a trip but most online reviews are pre-pandemic / renovation.
This has probably been brought up before, but has anyone left big consulting for a startup boutique firm? Thoughts, comments, points of concern?
Marriott platinum ambassador worth it? I’m ~$400 away from the spend requirement but not planning any hotel stays for the rest of the year
Bridgewater marriott NJ?
If I use a free night award at a Ritz, can I still try to use a suite night upgrade or get an upgrade as an Ambassador, or better to just use my points straight out for an upgrade?
23 YOE, 10dev, 10Devops/security, 3Salesforce, Admin Cert, MBA. Currently making $106k. What’s my next best step?
Used this as my Zoom background today. Kept getting strange looks from the Partners but not sure why....
Do you have a product portfolio? I have case study details on features I've released but so far have only needed as reference notes in interviews. I have an upcoming interview where they specifically want to discuss my portfolio and want to ensure I'm correctly prepared.
IB hours vs FDD in Big 4, which is worse?
Anyone familiar with Adobe leveling/titles? How do their SM/Principal/Director levels equate to Big 4 titles?
Saved up for a good pair of shoes. What is everyone's opinion of Allen Edmonds or Crockett and Jones? Genuinely want the best shoes that will last for years. Thoughts?
Got offered a senior consultant role for strategy at a Big 4 firm and the recruiter asked for my desired salary. I’m thinking of putting down 110k-120k since I’m in a HCOL area and I have about 2 years of consulting experience. Does this seem reasonable?
Arrived at LGA terminal C. Called Uber. After 15 min of wait the driver tells me they blocked the road to the terminal. That explains why the cab line is so long. And why do i see so many...
Why are there almost no unions for white collar work outside of government jobs? Seeing the recent actions at Google made me ask this question
One of my coworkers started complaining that I didn't wear a mask on a Zoom call, because I might "infect the people coming into my house". That so-called person is my house cleaner, and we're both triple vaccinated and are fine not wearing masks. Should I tell my coworker to mind their own business?
CBS acceptees: How did you guys access slack for admitted students? I have an email but not sure
Hey Wayfair. What is the typical comp for a Lead Analyst? To be specific, this role exists within their Advanced Analytics & Insights department.
Guys and Gals, I know this is a long shot but does anyone have a drink voucher for delta they can spare? Somehow all of mine are gone… TIA!
Seriously done with this internship.. people complain about how much work they have, meanwhile I'm struggling to fill 40 hours a week. I've met w/ my partner, coaches, HR, other associates, etc. nada
Benefits of wearing masks: 1) Reduce spread of Covid and save lives 2) By reducing spread, we can open up the economy sooner and get people back to work. Note: we didn’t wear masks during the flu season because Covid is 10x deadlier. Any questions?
A friend has offers for Bain and BCG Dubai at the consultant level (joining just after his MBA) and he is confused on which one to take. Any thoughts to help him make a decision? Things he cares about are total compensation, career progression, mobility/ transfers to other offices and casework focus on tech (if any).
I’m starting to feel like people on my team and other teams take advantage of me because I’m in an entry level position. This job literally doesn’t seem to be furthering my career and rather just doing other peoples work for them..
Hello Deloitte H-1B fishes, Traveling abroad and don’t have a Deloitte phone. I was told I can access webmail and DTE on a personal device. Is there anything else to be concerned about? How would I access STAFFIT? Year-end impact statements? Any personal documents on ToD I should download? Already have pay stubs and employment verification letter for visa interview. I’m also in the middle of a PERM application so not sure if BAL would need other documents from Deloitte’s system while on PTO.
