I’m a senior software engineer and wondering if it’s best to wait until the economy turns around and there’s more funding back in tech to join smaller/start-up type companies. I’m not really in a rush but looking to have more of an impact coming from a large tech co.

Not really. Never get too comfortable anywhere and always have your resume updated and ready for the next job and you’ll have nothing to worry about. The economy is unpredictable and there will never be a right time honestly.

Is there any merit to getting in at a low point in the economy so equity has more upside?

I have been reading posts from newer associates about bad things partners have done or said to them and I think it could be fun for some of us more senior lawyers in the bowl to tell stories of mean things partners did or said to us when we were new associates. Hopefully it stays mostly light and not horrible things.

I gave in my 2 weeks on Friday last week and I thought that it would make me feel better and calmer but now I’m experiencing more anxiety than ever even though I know I made the right decision by leaving. Does anyone have any advice on how to stay calm so I can finish up these last 2 weeks strong? I’ve got so much anxiety that I’m making myself almost puke, it’s so difficult to concentrate on work.

How many of you are working remote? I really don’t see how this industry, especially in IT risk could go back to the office. I had minimal time prior to covid at client sites. Want to get a feeling around how many people here still remote and will be remote at least for the presumable future.

My title was software project manager but my actual work is something like: 20% project management; 80% product owner/ scrum master in several teams in my previous job. Was this common? Being the only female in a software engineering department with 15+ male colleagues I feel sometimes quite lonely. Willing to join a firm and build a diversify and inclusive team

Despite the title here (I can’t seem to get a change to stick), I’m a senior UX designer who’s been at a company for 4.5 years. This week, I’ve adjusted my LinkedIn status to being “open to work”, for recruiters only — not actively seeking, just exploring options.

I’ve been unhappy at the org for the better part of a year since my former innovation team was dismantled. Just tonight, I received a connection request on LinkedIn from my HR director, whom I’ve minimally connected with. Coincidence?
