Thoughts on lateraling as a 6th/7th year at a v10 to a knowledge management role for steadier hours and $300k base? for context, I have a toddler and a baby and am the breadwinner. worried about loss of potentially higher salary bumps but I am drowning at work and miss my kids.
Would you apply through a diversity recruiting link or an MD referral link assuming you have referrals from both paths?
Just found out I didn’t get the offer at Altman after 7 interviews… who is hiring ? Have a lot of tmt strategy and transformation experience. Anyone willing the refer me ?
Which one to go for in terms of long term learning and growth perspective? Sr. Consultant at Deloitte - M&A Consulting Vs Sr. Associate at BCG - Generalist Consultant And are both the roles comparable to one another or one is higher in designation than other? PS: Salary is comparable in both, almost equivalent, so, not a fator in the equation of decision.
Interviewed for Deloitte Tech Strategy SC and got a verbal offer for Consultant instead. I negotiated the offer to 120K salary and 10K signing bonus. I’m a boomerang with 4 years ERP consulting but this past year I’ve been doing DEI Consulting. Spoke with former colleagues who rejoined Deloitte and got much higher offers for SC. How do I go back to the recruiter to negotiate further? I suggested that I’d probably sign but needed time to think. Now I’d like to go back and request 140k salary.
How’s the transaction tax advisory TTA group at EY in Houston? WLB, team culture, comp insights for a Manager? Thanks
Big4 audit financial service exit opps?
What's a reasonable salary range for a first year manager at a Big 4, with 15 years of industry experience, an MBA, and CISSP? Working in technology, media, telecommunications segment in San Francisco
Hi all, Atlassian is hiring across Product, Engineering, Design, Data, Strategy & Biz Ops and other roles. The company has a great culture and values employee well-being a lot. Almost all roles are remote, even if there is a location attached to them. The internal policy is team anywhere aka remote-first within a country/region. Check out the career page below for more details. Happy to put in a referral for you if there is a fit.
MBB 🐠: how significant is the risk of appearing to “spray” your resume to multiple opps? ID’d second internal position that’s also a good fit. Both of these are non-referral (ie, website applications)
Advice for negotiating salary when first starting at your firm? How much higher than my current salary dare I put as desired salary? MD/MBA here in healthcare sector. Please help!
strategy& 🐠: can you provide more detail on the Technology Strategy group? the SA job posting emphasizes developing operating model strategies and process automation. can you elaborate on the type of engagements, what technical skills are necessary to be successful, and what is the salary band for S2 & S3? thanks!
The air conditioner in my room at DU is noisy. How much of an increase in my bonus can I ask for?
Just got laid off today.... anyone hiring account executives? 3 years experience working across integrated campaigns in multiple industries. Hungry and eager to get back into the weeds!!
Would you move from a team lead role in consulting to an individual contributor role in the industry, if the pay is 20-25% more?
Just finished my compensation meeting at work, got my promo and a really nice raise that pushed me into the six figure club. If you had asked me 5 years ago if I'd ever be making this much money or be having this much success I would have laughed. My wife is super happy for me and has been a big support but I'm secretly starting to resent the fact I settled for her. If I had known I could do this well in life I would have waited and done so much better than her 😕
How formal should a cover letter be when applying for a job in a tech start-up? Surely not "Dear Sir / Madam"??
New York. All talk and no action here when it comes to actual inclusion and not cosmetic efforts.
Expecting our first baby in a month and as a male I have no idea what to expect; insurance does not include any videos / content to help prepare. Any leads to free content / paid content to help me prepare?
whats the worst expense violation that you’ve ever seen? how did you tell client? did the partner say anything?
Anyone find it suspect when some Partners throw around "I'm sure we all would prefer to be in person..." type things? Like do you hate your family or something? Maybe I'm getting to used to remote work 😬
Case interviews scare me. I know I’m in consulting but before the interview for my current role I had never done a practice case. When I was prepping I barely ate for 2 weeks because I was so stressed and nervous. I have case interviews coming up for positions I really want and I’m freaking out again. I like consulting but don’t know if I can do that all over again just to *maybe* get the job. Any words of encouragement or tips to get me through this and prepare thoroughly? Anything helps
eBook or Online course? Hi all - curious as to what you’re preferred medium for learning and prepping about case interviewing. I’m a former EM at MBB and had coached and interviewed hundreds of folks (still do today). I know there’s a lot of material out there already but let’s assume I can add value and have a solid approach/methodology - would you prefer an an ebook or online course? Also what would you pay for each? (If anything at all lol)
Need advice. My mom has graciously offered to be full-time grandma daycare as I return to work. The problem is we have wildly different parenting styles and I really really want her to do it my way for a couple of the really important ones like nap schedules and feeding schedules. She flat out is ignoring me and we had a huge blowout fight where she pretty much said she didn't want to do this anymore. What should I do? Find a nanny that would do it my way? Or give in to my mom?
Any advice on interviewing with Strategy&? Haven’t interviewed in 5 years and am incredibly interested in a position. Have first round coming up next week. Thanks in advance!!
I’ve been at EY for about 6 years and I am now applying for strategy roles. I know it’s competitive but things aren’t really going my way. I am getting the roles I am least interested and not the ones I really want. This is more of a rant, because I know the only way to get out of my situation is to keep trying. I am so drained and never been depressed before but I think I am starting to get there because of how exhausted looking for a job is 🥴🥴🥺🥺🥺🥺 Any success stories to get some motivation?
Hi Infy Folks, I cleared Tech Interview and submitted the infy application form. It's been a month ago, there was no call from Recruiter for CTC discussion till now. Can I assume my application got rejected..? If no, then how long they put candidate ON HOLD.? Any suggestion would be appreciated. TIA.
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
Do employers have to have a physical receipt notice for H1B transfer to start employment? We have the e-receipt but not the physical receipt notice. Does anyone have similar experience not being able to obtain a hard copy of the receipt notice?
Anyone else think it’s weird / disheartening how many folks comment stuff that isn’t helpful? This hasn’t even happened to me, but I’m so sick of seeing the top comment on posts be “Google is your friend” or other joke replies on a lot of folks asking reasonable questions. Be helpful or keep scrolling.
Hey there! I’m looking into a move from academia to industry. Higher education is a hot mess and my job has no formal growth opportunities. I am not paid competitively for my role or location. Plus, we just got our first raise in 8 years! It was about 2%. I feel like my passion is no longer serving me and the future I want to pursue. Tips for making the switch? I just had my final interview for an IFS research position at PwC.
If I say I am a java developer, what skillet would be expected from me in an interview... I have worked in a support project.
