I'm a Staff 2. Does my senior really have to review all my selections before I send them to the client?

If the sample is wrong the senior will take the heat. Reasonable that they would want to review the sample.

like

You need to call him out. Make sure the manager is on site first. Partner would be optimal. Then tell him you are hot stuff and have been doing this for a whole year already and he needs to stop checking your work. Let me know how that goes for you 😂

like

Yes otherwise you'll blame the senior

like

Yes. Just learn what you can from where you are. Don't take things personal. Senior wants to make sure nothing is off, and you would hopefully do the same in his/her position .

like

That's his job. Not sure what your complaining about...he would catch the heat if he didn't. As previously mentioned it won't add time to yourself so why not get that CYA.

like

Thanks for the answers. I guess I just feel so micro managed since I've been making these same selections for over a year now.

Always with the same senior or with different seniors but same task? Usually a senior will want to review your samples a few times before they let you run with it.

like

Sounds a bit extreme in that case, but who cares. It's no additional work on your plate. If the senior wants to take additional time out of their day to do this that's on them. Don't let it bother you :)

like

Wouldn't bother me as a staff, but as a senior I'm not sure how they have time review samples. Honestly I don't think my samples were reviewed other than when I was a first year.

like

I never review my 2nd years work mainly because I trust her and I'm too damn lazy to review. I have enough work on my own plate

like

Put yourself in the other person's shoes.

Always the same senior on the same task. Every time he has reviewed them in the past he hasn't had me change any of them, with the exception of the very first time I made them.

Let people micromanage. That's their job and makes your job easier.

I personally would prefer my senior review everything so that if anything goes wrong, I'm not the only one to be blamed

I wish my Senior would review the Staffs work (at all)... that would be nice...

I’m managing 1 direct report and from 2-8 copy and art freelancers at any time. I feel like all my stretch goals are ACD focused. Yet still need SAD before ACD. Does this sound like an art director? I’ve been seeing this a lot more recently and just had to make a thread about it. I refuse to believe that anyone on here has actually been asked to work a 100hr week. People come onto this thread with legitimate questions and concerns and I just see people trying to scare them out of public which inevitably makes it worse for everyone else who sticks around. Even an 80 hour week is debatable and that is the absolute top. Stop trying to be an attention getter. We work, but not 24/7.

Hi guys... I'm currently serving my notice period. I have 2 months left to serve. I was talking to my projects client regarding the future tasks and I sort of let them know that I have resigned. Later I am thinking why the hell did I need to tell them. Did I do the right thing ?? Will my management create any issue regarding this. Is it a big issue letting clients know?what can happen?? Did I do the right thing??
