What I've learned over the past years since I started buying luxury watches is that the common person has no idea what we wear and unless they have good eyesight or you show them the dial, they'll never know what you're wearing.
I've had so many people talk about not understanding why I'm a watch guy when all they need and can afford is an apple watch or fitness tracker.
If the price tag convo arises, I usually just tell them it's a Macy's watch. No need for details and tbh, people don't care. Wear what you want b/c you want to/enjoy it.
Yeah I'm not a watch guy - am just browsing this bowl b/c i saw it linked somewhere else and got interested. I usually don't even really look at a guy's watch unless it's unavoidable (e.g., their pointing at something with their hand and I look right at it.) And if I do see a watch, I'm not really gonna notice a difference between a $500 vs. $5,000 watch unless it's obvious or one has the brand name on it (e.g., Rolex.) And I actually know very, very few people who wear watches or cares about them...

Dude, quit your job and do something interesting - don’t be an entry level B4 accountant.

^ this every time someone with high net worth says they don’t wanna retire because they’ll hVe nothing to do I think those things^
Why are you working as a staff 2 with that net worth?
If you have that kind of capital, try your hand at starting businesses. Will give you plenty of drive
I honestly feel like this is a normal troll post we get once in a while off “I’m junior in a lower paying role but I’m a child of a billionaire and have tons of lux watches.” Like I see this all the time.

Pics or it didn’t happen. Let’s see these watches you speak of.
i had an associate that had a fake gold nautilus once (i spotted the case and thought it was real at first and suspected he was a loaded billionaires kid or something). later i saw that he drove a beat up sentra and i asked him about his watch- he said it was fake.
The beat up Sentra got me laughing
If you are already in luxury goods, why is this even a question?

lol
Definitely have a different level of respect for you having that net worth but still deciding to work. 👍🏼. No one ever notices the watches I wear except for my watch friends.
This question is so funny to me. Do you all roll up your sleeves and flash your watches around everywhere? Literally no one even notices that I wear a watch except for the one or two other actual enthusiasts I work with.
Want to be my new best friend? We can go on adventures together. Lmk former military contractor turned attorney who will show you the interesting side of the world. Just let me sniff your watches sometimes
Penalized for being bad at your job? Yes
OP are you the person from EY that was gifted two mansions in Cali
If you're choosing what watch to wear based on others opinions it doesn't matter you have on, you have already lost. Buy a watch you like, wear the watch that makes you feel good on any given day and if others want to judge you, then let them.
Wear whatever you want. Quit your job.
Whatever happened to OP? 🤔
