Depends on career progression and what else you are doing with your life.
Stay- I’m in similar boat with being 100% remote, loving the team etc etc. I would have to be paid 150+ to be 100% in person working 60 hour week. The flexibility gives me the time and support to try and start side hustles and actually enjoy my life. If anything I’ll work harder to get a promotion here for better pay.
Over 50% increase is pretty damn good. How long until you reach that at your current company?
If I keep grinding, I can be up for promotion next June 2022 and that would put me at around 110k TC. Two years after that, assuming another promotion, I would be somewhere around 140k TC. So I could be close to the other jobs starting pay in a year, and surpass it in 3 years...but thats assuming I hit the mark for every promo lol. Could be longer than that.
Also in a similar situation… any broader advice from the group in thinking through these types of questions is appreciated
can you take this and ask for a raise?
1 YOE? Go hard
Stay at current job, use the time to start something on the side to generate some passive income.
I don’t know about you, but a lot of folks are realizing they need flexibility more than money after a certain stage. If you are doing well. With 40hrs at current job, you can start doing another side gig that will make you more. If you cannot make the side gig works, or it is not your thing, then take the new job.
If you’re in it for money. Take the job, you can always boomerang to your current company with a pay rise. Since, you don’t have any major commitments, Kids - I feel this is the time to try things out. 50% hike is an awesome hike. But yeah do your due diligence on the company and job before you join/sign. Good luck
