There have been multiple times when this guy makes plans with me and then day of doesn’t follow up or cancels (blames it on work or doesn’t give an explanation). May have an opportunity to transition out of patient care into working remotely from home doing healthcare Recruiting. Would be a pay cut, is it worth it ?

Have you struggled with feeling like your opinion isn't heard? I sometimes feel like I have to speak up twice as loud to be taken as seriously as my male colleagues. Not naturally assertive. What did you do in this case?

Anyone know of an RN to BSN programs that do not require clinicals? It used to be this way but now most of the ones I come across, require clinicals. I work full time and been a nurse for over 10 years. I cannot see myself doing clinicals at this point in time..I am exhausted as it is.
I manage programs at multiple hospital across the state. I’ve been doing this with much success for >10yrs (I’m the long standing top performer). When my boss was elevated to Sr Director over many depts, we were promised a manager role would open. That FTE was given to another dept. I have an interview with another division in the same org, it would be lateral move but a growing division. How can i leverage that for a leadership position in my current area? Or should I move on?
I am currently a Health Admin Fellow at a leading healthcare system. I am in a phase during my fellowship where I will have to start searching for a role within the system in the next 3 months.
I was wondering what kind of role would be best step forward for an admin fellow.
I was offered a project coordinator role but feel I should not accept the same without looking at other options. I aim to seek out a project manager role and was wondering if this would be the wrong step forward.

I'm less than a year into my career and I wonder how do all of you disassociate from the horrible stuff you see each day? I get overwhelmed some days and I'm guessing things only get worse as time goes on
What’s a realistic target age for retirement?
Do they decorate for the holidays where you work? I work at a pretty large hospital and they do the eaves and the trees outside, but I'm thinking of making some paper snowflakes and maybe getting a mini tree for the nurses station. Good idea? I don't want to offend anyone just thought it could bring some holiday cheer as corny as that is.

Has anyone been successful at creating “boundaries” in the workplace both with duties and relationships with bosses and not been gaslighted by being told they weren’t being a team player and highly agreeable? I’ve seen it happen around me and I’m waiting for the day it directly effects me. I would love to learn from your experiences.

How does everyone deal with patients who don't want a female and/or minority doctor to treat them? I know I need thicker skin but when someone comes in to be treated and refuses to be treated by me simply because I'm a woman or POC I can't help but get offended. I would never let these feelings affect the quality of care I provide but it is still so aggravating.
Tips for working with someone who has the WORST attitude? We have a new nurse at the clinic I work at and she's probably the most negative person I've ever met. I'm not a "toxic positivity" person, but I also know that whining all day doesn't make the day go faster. She has an argument or snippy comment for everything you say to her, even if it's a compliment. How do I work with this person everyday!! Help!

Chicago weather is brutal, I would go to Colorado Springs.
I would agree although this winter is very odd. We haven’t been super cold no have we had much snow but it’s only almost Christmas. The worst is Jan-March
Agree with previous posters. You don’t want to live in Chicago, maybe just visit if that. Not worth the risk. Most suburbs are ok, just depends on exact location.
Chicago is quite crowded but the city itself is so nice. I think you will enjoy it there.
I live in the chicago suburbs. Where exactly in chicago is the assignment? Personally I would not take anything in chicago. It’s not safe. We are in the far west suburbs and I can’t remember the last time we went to ‘the city’. My uncle is retired chicago pd and would say the same. Just stay out. Now if your assignment is in the suburbs that would be better. Just depends where
