How many of you have food/drink stains on your lesson plan book or on student work, and crumbs in your keyboard, since you are eating and working at the same time? (Typed while I am eating! 😂😂😂)

The hard lessons you learn in the hospital... ALWAYS wear a mask when changing a flexiseal bag or you're going to have a bad day. 💩💩
Yesterday was a good day. I was really impressed with myself. I woke up at 5, practiced dance lessons, did two water colors, made breakfast and tea, got to work by 10, put in 8-10 hours of solid work and then came home. It’s been ages since I painted or danced. However today, I slept till 7:00, did not work out or have food. Still got to work by 10 and did 8 solid hours of work. Some days are good and some are just okay. And that is okay. Trying to build on my good days and we all can. :)
Anyone else find it interesting how easy it is to recognize people wearing masks over much of their faces? Good lesson for bank robbers. The eyes have it!
I’ve been burned by the stock market before trading options (when the market bottomed out in 2016) and I learned my lesson on recklessly speculating on spikes and dips in the market. Anyone else feel like this situation is gonna create a class of retail investors who are over confident in the “ease” of timing the market, without doing an research, after all this dies down?
TTP vs Magoosh for Verbal? I find Manhattan books to be too dry for me and need video lessons.
SO and I moved into a loft style apartment where the walls only go up about 80% of the way (there’s 2 ft gap between the wall and ceiling) this has made co working from home a nightmare, even getting a plate from the kitchen is perfectly audible from the bedroom. The place is awesome otherwise - any creative solutions from other fish in similar situations? Considering this a life lesson…
After 28 years of life and multiple degrees I've decided that the most valuable lesson I have learned is... righty tighty lefty loosey.

We just started using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System in our programs to measure quality of interactions and lesson plans. I think it's been one of the most meaningful tools for providing feedback to teachers.

In your experience, do any agencies foster a culture of mentorship? Meaning mentorship is encouraged, celebrated, and incentivized? So many have mentorship programs that go unused, but I’m curious if there are any agencies that bake it into their culture.

Fellow consultants, I’m struggling and I know complaining about this will only make me look weak but I need to vent. I’ve been working upwards of 60 hours a week since January and I’m tired. If I was doing meaningful work, it would be one thing but most of my days are spent supporting my client with fire drills that end up not mattering. He’s very reactionary and trying to guide him to hold off or think of other approaches doesn’t work. (Cont).
What would be a comparable salary/bonus for someone 15 years in the industry as an associate with a CFP... client service but no business development experience? @northwestern mutual
Please help with your suggestions to this Depressed fish! 10 YOE and worked diligently with sub standard package relying on bosses alms without realised the exploitation until recently. I am a financial services consultant (non-Big 4) with a second round interview at Deloitte (three 45 min interviews back-to-back). I have never interviewed at a Big 4 before. Any advice?
Have finally gotten past the mindset of wanting to order the most expensive dish just because I can expense it.
Hi everyone, need some insight. I’m an analyst who is part of and inclusion and diversity initiative at my local office. We are planning to have a race related open discussion meeting next Friday for other analysts and consultants in the office. I realized that next Friday is “Juneteenth”. Would it be racially insensitive to say this discussion is in celebration of that? I’m a non-black POC and just want to be educated. I appreciate the help!
Can I jump firms without interviewing in this market? S3 with 3 years FDD experience... not really interested in more than 1 conversation to get to to know the team. To me it's not worth the stress to go through a full interview process but if I received a competitive offer quickly, then I would seriously consider switching.
Are short term gains, quarterly business reports, and the push for constant profits creating a culture in which companies no longer invest in employees for the long term? Cheaper and fast over better?
Has anyone taking the CISSP exam? Is it difficult and how long does it take to study? Do I need a programming background? Thanks in advance for any help.
How do you repeatedly turn down work for one partner or effectively avoid working with a particular person within your firm? Assuming hours are met and your standing is strong otherwise. One partner at my firm is destroying my mental health and knows few boundaries. I don't want to actively transition from our ongoing matters but sure as hell don't want to take on anything new... How best to do this without burning bridges?
Working as a manager in a big 4 in SF isn't enough. Having to pick up driving for Lyft on the weekends, against firm policy of having outside employment.
Quitting tomorrow... should I say my last day is Monday, Nov 30 so I get the thanksgiving holiday? Feels fair after everything I've gone through. Don't need insurance coverage, hence why I don't do dec 1.
Need advice. Currently at a top boutique. Fun firm, weak pipeline and 12 - 18 months from promotion. Received offer at a smaller firm focused on interim management for hospitals for 33% more TC. Less brand name, would get more experience managing people at a hospital. Do I jump?
Ha, in reference to the earlier post.
