(In my opinion) Get an offer from someplace else you’d like to work better. Give formal notice in writing. Wait for a counter offer to reveal what you should be making.
(In my opinion) Never accept a counter offer as it puts you in a highlighted space and the clock starts ticking so make sure you’re ready to leave before doing anything to start this process.
Make them revise the counter a few times to show your true worth and hone those negotiating nerves. Two or three things will happen here at least.
1. You’ll better yourself with confidence.
2. You’ll get to know the inner savage that looks out for you better.
3. Your comfort zone will become wider and stronger.
If the past few years have taught us anything, it for sure has beaten into our dna that nobody looks out for you and yours better than yourself. It’s only business. Get comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Hey yo pro I think you should start looking. You make more money job hopping than staying with the same company even if you are moving internally
Most people need to hop jobs to get significant raises.
The company I work for only provide merit raises during annual reviews. The only way for me to receive a raise outside that period is to be promoted to another role through the interview process. It’s always frustrating. I make well below what my peers make too. I was told my starting salary was my issue as I receive excellent raises every year so performance is not the issue. I was told to leave the company and come back in a year or two if I want to be on the same level as peers. I’m sure this is due to “fairness” as well. If you like the work and the company, keep doing a good job and stay positive!
I would live if the salary is below expectation. Try to find another position, 2 years is a good period for a change, as it will take several months to find the new one 👍🏻
