Thoughts on Airbnb ’s new remote work policy?
Key points (copied from their post):
1. You can work from home or the office
2. You can move anywhere in the country you 3. work in and your compensation won’t change
4. You have the flexibility to travel and work around the world
5. We’ll meet up regularly for gatherings
6. We’ll continue to work in a highly coordinated way
Usually promotion years jump is 20%ish so I would say wait unless the offer is from a dream company or really close your place etc etc. Once you are senior if you get another 20% bump when leaving would put you in a good position from pay than now leaving for 30 to 40%. If you are not dying to leave, wait until senior and then start looking. I think you will have more leverage to negotiate a higher pay once you have the senior title.
Thanks for your opinion! They are also offering signing bonus, so it’s very tempting. I’ll think about my priory first!
Yes
IA generally pays more because nobody want to go there. The percentage bump means nothing if your base pay is not high enough
well but PA has clear ladder for growth
If you want to have a life do it
Job title makes no difference. It’s the work you do and salary you get paid to do it. Very often industry titles don’t line up with big 4. If the job is interesting, that’s more important.
The job itself sounds interesting, but it’s hard to tell if I like it until I actually start. I’m just scared of leaving a bit earlier than planned. Thanks for your thought!
Had a similar offer as A2. I took it and don’t regret it.
