I’m about to be a second year staff. I have 1 part passed. I don’t think it’s possible to pass 3 parts while working. I’m strongly considering taking a year off and just studying. Thoughts?

I don't think you need any time off. You just need some solid planning in all honesty. I know it sounds snobby but you have to prioritize. Wake up at six study for an hour, go to work, study one more hour before bed. You'll get it done I'm sure of it and then you'll be even happier that you didn't take any time off.

If you are going to study full time you don’t need a year off for three parts. 1-1.5 months for each part is plenty. I did it all in 9 months while doing masters and later working part time.

If you really believe you need a year off than take it. Only you know your study style and what it will take for you to get it done. I’m taking a sabbatical this summer to try and finish up 2 parts. Good luck! We can do it!

if you have the savings go for it

Yep totally doable while working. Just need to prioritize. Stop going out for lunches and happy hours, minimize socializing on the weekends to 3-4 hours, and study at least 2 hours a day. Commit to doing 1 chapter a week (assuming Becker) and 2 weeks of review before the exam

I passed 3 in 5 months while working (after busy season) and with a newborn baby. I failed 3 before I started working and before baby came 🤷🏼‍♂️
It’s possible but you have to make sacrifices - maybe sleep, maybe fun, etc

You can do it! Just need to get into a good habit of making studying a part of your regular routine. I would study for 1-2 hours after work and then study on weekends, and get through 2 modules a week. Whatever I couldn’t finish during the work week rolled into my weekend so it was motivation for me to do more upfront so I’d have at least some time on Sunday to relax. I was able to do BEC and AUD in 3.5 weeks each with this method! It’s so worth it in the end to just suffer for a few weeks and get it out of the way. Don’t give up!

I passed all 4 within 9 months while working 2 back to back busy seasons! You can do it! I found cramming was helpful! Take a week off before and cram.

I passed all 4 in 4 nights sleep. I just took a one long sleep a night before each exam so i get well rested :)... just kidding. Yup I agree with others. Dont need to take off if you planned well your time management.

Agreed with the others as long as the part you passed was FAR or REG. Those are very time consuming....

Manager at BT. No reason to take a year off we offer a lot of Flexibilty and study plan options to pass your exam. Talk to your PC or HR

I am just venting here as I am struggling after I had a head injury a few weeks ago.

I feel I have been berated for my temporary disability from the senior leaders in HR to the vendor case manager who was involved to approve my health leave.

All of this has aggravated my symptoms and left me severely debilitated and I don't know what to do anymore. I do understand that this is all temporary but I feel I am being treated with minimal human decency. (Contd...)
