Get a lawyer and talk through options
I second this! This will really be your safest bet.
I believe background checks look for convictions, not charges, so you'll probably be ok. Might want to run it by an attorney or someone who works in HR, just in case.
It won't have an affect on you getting interviews, but depending on the background check, they may see the charge. For the most part, background checks only check for convictions.
You are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Agree with the others - especially if the charge was while you were at Texas State. Hays County is pretty tough and will go after you for as high as a conviction as possible. Your university may have legal assistance available to you for preliminary conversation/recommendations.
Background checks will pull up charges and convictions but only the conviction is what matters. Depending on the company and how conservative they are, and if you need any sort of security clearance, they may want your legal issues to be wrapped up before having you begin employment. Not everywhere, but some companies may lean that way.
Thanks you, this is very helpful
All depends what was the charge on your account and where are you looking for work
Get a lawyer, make sure you aren’t convicted. It’ll matter a lot if you’re convicted
It might. Like someone above said I would get an attorney and have them talk things over with you.
Charge? So that means you are not convicted yet. I have done background checking for potential employees before. We usually look at the convictions and not on charges. You can be charged of so many crimes, but unless you are proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt, then you're good.
Hmm. If we are talking about possibilities, then yes. When was that?
