I hate to break it to you but that ship has sailed. The decision's already been made.
in the words of Carl carande it's a discussion not a negotiation
You should be ready with some industry benchmark numbers for your discussion. You can't change anything ( as I was told) . You are too young to have any counterpoint . Never get into argument. Most likely everyone gets merit raises. If you don't get anything please refer to the other post where people are saying KPMG is better ( in comparison with Deloitte) and feel good. If you are not still happy then post again I will give additional insights . :)
Thanks for the input - so I'm assuming it's just gonna be a casual FYI convo?
Not sure of your practice but for my area in CIOA it is Partner/MD level only for the comp discussions. (Not Dir) And yeah, it's FYI only at this point. 10/15 paycheck will have the vc and new salary.
Depends on the team. It is negotiable if you are valued enough
^ thanks for this. Just got out of the convo and found out no VC and a very marginal raise due to firm performing below what was forecasted and timing at which I joined the firm.
I would be curious to know if anybody went on these calls and actually negotiated a higher raise
Did you work a full year?
Nope joined in January.
OP, are you Fed?
Nope - GRC.
Thx
We're supposed to be in the shitter this year as well.
Fed that is.
OP - how much % raise?
Think marginal and then half that amount. 😒
So u have the talk? Sorry to hear it didn't go well
New hires, with less than a year at the firm, should not expect a large increase.
