There are two schools of kindness. One is sweet and gentle and all hugs and empathy. The other is giving people a kick in the butt when they need it and telling them to man up when they need it. Since the 90s society has been super heavy on the first kind and completely apathetic on the second. When people seem uncompassionate to you they may very well simply be expressing the second sort of kindness, the one that tells people to grow up and kicks baby birds out of the nest so they can learn to fly. It's not cruelty, it's a necessary part of realizing adulthood.
Yeah a lot of people here have the "my life is set, screw the ones whose lives aren't" mentality. Empty way to live and think. Prob got it from their parents. Makes me grateful for having come from very humble beginnings in a developing country, as it gives me a different perspective.

I'm not of the first kind. If you worked with me you'd understand. Put yourself in someone else's shoes. You can give people a kick up the bum and still have empathy and compassion.

However there are plenty of posts on here that are clearly people looking for attention (check the mirror and you will find one of those types of posters). I have no sympathy for the snowflakes who never worked a job in their lives prior to public and suddenly think it's a gulag. The job isn't even hard. Shovel shit in a barn or throwing bay bales in 100 degrees weather like I did growing up and you'll realize your cushy job sitting on a laptop isn't hard. Get a grip and grow the fuck up.
