That's just gross. Obviously comp, opportunities, healthcare, 401k, etc are incredible, but that kind of commitment seems like it would inevitably take a toll on your physical and mental health.

MBBD*. I do 35 at Deloitte

like

I averaged 55-65 at BCG. Above 70 were not common, but they happened. The stress level in MBB is a different level, everything needs to be fast and perfect. At Big 4 now and it is far slower...but also frustrating because when you need something fast and perfect from internal firm services or another case team that does not happen. Does that make sense?

like

Says “does that make sense?” in semi condescending tone while simultaneously being 100% serious. Can confirm this person was at Bcg.

like

It is true. 65-70+

65 is ideal. 14-16 hrs Monday through Wednesday. 12ish Thursday. 8 Friday. 1-2 Sunday. I can manage this schedule for the foreseeable future

Typically 60-70 hrs / week.

Between 55-60 hrs per week. It’s volatile case to case. I’ve seen cases from 45hrs/week local, to 70hrs/week plus 15hrs travel.

More like a mine in the middle of nowhere that you have to take a bush plane to get to.

50-60

On ApplicantLab, the coach goes on quite a bit about having a lot of white space on your resume (easy on the eyes), etc etc. This is totally wrong, right? Ive explicitly a Wharton admissions officer say to use margins to your advantage (pack more stuff in) and have seen an application guide at an MBB, where the resume templates include very little white space. Obviously every word should be valuable, but just wanted to check my sanity here since AppLab offers good advice elsewhere.

Is MBB worth it? I’ve never been in mbb or big 4. Just smaller consulting firms. Have a competing offer between FAANG and MBB. I’m in tech and FAANG is more interesting for my career as well as preferred work culture. However, I’ve seen a lot about MBB here and kind of want to join just so I can say I was in MBB. Is it gonna be killer hours? Promotion politics? Biases on my lack of education? hoping to hear what others have to say
