Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

In this case, I'll just name some crazy high price that will make YOU be willing to leave.
Make no mistake, they are poaching you.
When they ask you for a price, tell them "I'm happy where I am.. so, make me unhappy"

Wow this comment is quite popular. Haha! I would say recruiters probably know salary bands and they probably know roughly how much you make.
Make them want you enough to give you something sweet.
A few questions and one piece of advice: How much do you like your current boss? How confident are you that you’ll like your new boss? Which is the better company? Where will you do better work? Many people hate their situation and would easily pay $20k to get a better job; don’t make it just about the money. Also, remember Icarus. It’s not about the most compensation—it’s about getting appropriate compensation.
At least $35k and hopefully land at $25-30. This is when you make money. Be aggressive and don’t feel bad about. They won’t when they have to let you go. Hopefully you’ll be gone before that.
If you’re convinced you’re totally happy staying where you are, then ask for the number that would make you happily move (of course after waiting for them to offer the first number, and then negotiating up from there). I imagine an extra $20k would make a difference for you. I’m unsure of the details that would determine if that’s a realistic scenario, but try to determine that number before going into negotiations.
Depends on your book/experience. Are you a new ACD, or are you ready to make the the jump to CD? Say you’ll go for $220k, settle for their $200k counter and bounce.
Yeah but add in a VP title. You won’t likely get 200 with an AVP title.
I would ask for 200 with the mindset that I would take 180. But this is very subjective, only you can know what amount you would leave for. So take that amount and add 15-20k on top of it for negotiating. At least that’s what I would do! Good luck xx
I’ve found at the ACD level, there isn’t much room to go up from where you are. Most roles are closer to $145Kish. Do you even have a ballpark on what the other agency can offer?
Do you need any more?
