I've seen more brands have SEO but it's not a department. Titles may not align either. I'll send a dm
We were just hiring SEO roles and have an award winning in house team @T-Mobile
I’ve heard amazing things about T-Mobile. It’s a great workplace!
Maybe smaller companies would do SEO in house. Bigger companies work with agencies, which do SEO and paid campaigns. If you want to work in-house broaden up the scope to digital marketing coordinator/specialist

I work in marketing/comms of a hospital on a team of about 30. We have one fulltime SEO position. She might have 1 or 2 other hats... website analytics for example. Social and brand analytics are separate.
I know I’ve seen positions within my company that utilize SEO heavily for brand consultations.

We’ve got a large SEO team because content marketing has been a key part of our marketing strategy from the beginning.
But overall I’d there are more “growth marketers” who have a mix of skills related to SEO and performance.
I have never heard of anyone working on SEO in-house during my career
Exactly what I was thinking! I’m a 1.5 into digital marketing & SEO, so I’m considering moving into paid search or performance marketing to become a holistic marketer.
We have an SEO expert who works in-house in our corporate head office. We also have SEO responsibilities in various marketing teams but it’s not a department. You should look for website related positions or even digital marketing roles. Those types of roles have SEO responsibility expectations.

I would bet eCommerce is an industry who would leverage this the most: brands like Wayfair, IKEA, Cornerstone Brands, Amazon
Yes, I would look into growth marketing or digital marketing strategy. Could even shift direction into web management or UI/UX?
