I’m an aspiring project manager, I would like to work in Marketing/Advertising. I currently have my AS in digital media technology and am working on my Bachelors in business. I recently finished my CAPM course and am now just studying for my exam. My dilemma is that I work as a bank teller…are there tips of what I can do to break into the industry?

Just find any project management work, it’s usually all transferable and then once you finish your degree start applying for what you really want.

If you went back to a firm what do you think you would have to prepare for? (Besides billiable hours and no life. ) Also, fwiw, I graduate in 2018.

Hi everyone,

I am currently working as a data analyst at in digital marketing. I want to transition to data science. I don’t come from a CS background, but I can code. I’ve done stats in my MBA, and I am not seeing any scope to widen my skill sets in my current role, outside of Excel and Google Sheets.

On the other hand, it’s getting tougher to make a change as my experience doesn’t feel relevant. How do I get out of this rut?

Hello guys,
Got let go today :(
The reasons given were basically that I was not a great match for the team. My manager said they wanted somebody who was more aggressive; I take full responsibility for my performance. It is unfortunate I did not receive much feedback, and the few feedback I received was actually kinda positive lol. In any case, I'm learning from my mistakes and looking for opportunities . 4 years of experience 2 SWE at startups/msft and 1.8 years as PM at upcoming tech company

Rejection timeline?

I had a final virtual interview today with two managers (virtual position).

I usually assume the worst and think the interview went okay. There are some things that could've gone better but I don't want to dwell on them.

After the interview, I emailed my recruiter and asked for the managers' emails. I got even more anxious waiting for his response so I ended up finding them anyways and sending them thank-you notes. I interviewed on a Friday afternoon. Am I overthinking?

It’s too late to do anything now, but I’m curious to see if I should’ve done anything different: accepted a position in the fall in a pretty new type of role. I couldn’t find much info on compensation and the offer seemed reasonable especially given my lack of experience so I accepted w/o negotiating. Should I have tried to get more?

How do I get into Consulting? I don’t know anything about solving case studies or have never actually competed in case competitions. Are my doors closed? Any steps to segue my career towards that? I’m currently in Compliance within Banking and Consulting just seems far more exciting to work in, even though I know it’s super tiring and hectic, I’m only 23 and I think I’d have the skin for it, i’d say I can take all sorts of feedback well. I just love that you can wear many hats in Consulting.
