3rd year in Big Law. In the final round of an interview where the total comp is still well over 200k. My firm doesn’t pay market now so it’s not a huge cut. I’m trying to think of reasons why I wouldn’t want the job. Any insights? I can’t tell if it’s just a general fear of leaving my firm in the lurch (even though it’s to a client)

I’ve been working as an estate planning attorney in State A for the last 4 years. My husband just got his dream job (very high paying, lots of career opp for him) in State B. We’re still deciding what makes most sense for our family, but we’re leaning toward heading to State B. Anyone have any experience with this - moving states when EP can be so state specific? Will I be pigeon holed if I stay on these dental deals? Should I leave at this point? I don’t hate it here deals, but I don’t want to be pigeonholed and hurt my career by staying.

Hate audit, especially all those SOX/ detailed testing stuff. Wonder if FDD would be a good fit cause it is more analytical. However a lot of ppl say FDD is audit 2.0

Why do people at big 4 work so much if they have offshore teams to help? I'm at a MM firm and we get crappy data all day plus we're building everything out ourselves but even then I'm still able to keep it under 50 hours most weeks.

Since I do expect a slow down to occur in the short term, and I've noticed other firms pushing people to audit and other services with need, would it be rude to preemptively reach out to restructuring partners before my firm pushes us to audit? I really don't want to work in audit like at all. I'd prefer to stay in FDD, but I'd much prefer restructuring over audit
