Am I the only one that feels this way...???

Cognizant Recently cognizant have changed their internet wfh allowance policy.we use to get 1800 per month as internet allowance without submitting any bills or transaction details. Now they changed the policy as we need to apply for icici/axis/hdfc credit card from there we need to make the transaction and reimburse the same. I am ok with everything but why i need to apply for credit card? How a company can force me to have a credit card? It will directly/indirectly alter the credit score right? Cogniza

Hey. Don’t despair. I’m a woman, a minority, and a hardcore introvert. It took me longer than most.. but here I am and I even found an agency I love. If the passion is there, it’s doable.
Thanks for giving me hope, CD1! 🙏🏼 I’m also a woman, a minority, and a hardcore introvert. And to make situation even more disadvantaged, I don’t like alcohol... 😞 I get so much anxiety every time when there’s a happy hour or going away party invite shows up in my inbox. But I do have so much passion about this industry, and I dream one day I’ll find an agency I love just like you did. 🤞🏼
I’m an introvert. Honestly, the clients sometimes appreciate us because we listen. And you will get better at presenting with time.
You don’t have to be loud to get ahead. Some of the best leaders only speak when they have something smart to contribute.
It can set you back, fast-talkers, jokesters, kiss-asses and smooth-talking politicians do get the edge in some shops. But if the place is any good, it’s mostly about the work. Although it really does help to develop some interpersonal game, especially with clients and giving direction. Work at it, it may feel awkward but you can learn to open up. Certainly took me some time.
Don't worry. I'm an introvert too.
It's easier for people who talk a lot at meetings, of course. But we can be more consistent, saying the right thing with the right timing. Do your best work, have good argumentation, and you won't need to make too much noise to be noticed.
Take a public speaking class, like Toastmasters, or an improv class, like UCB. They’re skills you can develop, like anything else. It might be harder as an introvert, but if you feel like that’s what you need to get ahead, you can absolutely work towards it.
I did all of those things :(
I live by and always tell younger creatives to “make your own”. You don’t need to be the loudest, most controversial or most visible person to go far in the industry. Don’t worry about awards, strive for and stand up for great work, partner with your clients to accomplish their goals and don’t worry about the office politics. Do that and you’ll eventually get there.
Twenty years into my career (10+ as a CD) and I still consider myself an introvert, I hate agency culture (been there done that) and have still managed to amass a client quilt that would make most others jealous. I didn’t get here by following the traditional path, I got here by being passionate and always striving to do great work and so can you
There are definitely shops where the culture equates being loud with being right. If you find yourself in one, bail as soon as you can before you lose any more brain cells. But if you’re just talking about being nervous in presentations, sometimes acknowledging that you’re nervous because you’re excited about the work can help. I read that in CA in the early 1800s but it did actually help me in the early days. Also, whenever possible, give yourself 10 minutes alone before the meeting to clear your head and take some slow, deep breaths to calm your nervous and get your diaphragm muscles to relax. Also, whenever you can, find a way to have at least one informal, verbal exchange with the client before the meeting so the first thing you say to them isn’t presentation. It doesn’t have to be brilliant or important, just honest and human.
Advertising is filled with introverts. Don’t sweat it. Be yourself and do your thing. It’s all about the work.
Totally doable, from personal experience. You will need to put yourself out there where it's uncomfortable sometimes, but you can do it. I would even argue introverted creatives might have an advantage.
in an introvert too. i found out my mbti personality type and used my strengths to make a name for my work.
google infj strengths and weaknesses. i would start there. remember it might not represent you 100% (i believe we’re all a mix of two personalities. with one being more predominant.)
I feel this 100%
If you’re passionate about the work, the rest will follow. Some of my best creative leaders and favorite directors have been introverts.
