It’s engrained in my extended family’s DNA to be on each other’s business and I’ve been on the bench for about a month, as they are still working on the contract with my next client. Half of them choose not to understand what the bench is when I explain it and say I’m gonna get canned and the ones that do bring up my cousin that was put on the bench forever, PIPed and let go and saying that’s coming my way 🙄

Is it worth deferring MBA enrollment to next fall (if possible) or starting the application process again in a few months? I’m concerned about the impact of Covid-19 on the b-school experience.

Portfolio question to creatives, especially the freelancers out there. The last produced campaign I have in my book is from 2020. I’ve been busy freelancing since but nothing book-worthy IMO. Lately I’ve been getting a lot of “what else you got” and “send over your up-to-date resume” comments from recruiters and GCD level creatives. How do you handle this? Do you give a general client and/or agency list? Some are also asking about side hustles and it’s frankly getting exhausting.

Has anyone had success in writing off tuition for a part-time MBA program as a work related expense? If so, how did you address the requirement around “maintains or improves your job skills”?

I work at an in house creative dpt. Recently, a major project was outsourced to a creative agency. We were reassured outsourcing was a one-off, and future work will be kept in house. Yesterday, we were told that yet another major strategic and creative campaign is being briefed in to the other agency...again. This comes with news of a future restructure and Q's from my boss to my co-CD and I asking what we think our roles in the team are. Should we be worried?

I have an interview for Functional testing in EPAM anywhere on Monday(28th mar). And I applied through one of my cousins referral.

When I applied, the JD was different in LinkedIn and recently the JD for functional testing is different.

Currently linkedin shows EPAM hires for Finctional Api testing in which I have a knowledge but not experience. Will EPAM consider me or will they require API experience mandatory?or will they hire&deploy me to a project according to my skill set?

A male MD on my project is always cutting off a female team lead. He is incredibly rude and condescending to her and not to other members of the team. Is there anything I can do being so new?

Capital gains tax rate - I know there are diff rates (0/15/20) depending on income threshold but is the threshold based solely on “earned income” (i.e., wage)? For ex. if I quit my job and hv zero earned income and sell my stocks with 5M gain in the same yr, there would not be any capital gain tax?? It doesn’t seem right but is that the rule?
