I’m an Operations Analyst looking to start thinking about my annual review and how to negotiate the standard 3%. Any advice on how to navigate this conversation when the time comes?

Stay confident. Know your value and be prepared to stand up for what you believe is fair. Be respectful, but don't be afraid to speak up for yourself.

When it comes to annual reviews and negotiations, it's important to always keep your goals in mind. Make a list of your accomplishments over the past year, as well as any areas where you feel you could use some development. This will help you present yourself as a strong, well-rounded candidate.

I always try to bring actual documentation of the impact I've made with my work. The more you can prove you're worth, the easier it will be to ask for an increase. Good luck!

like

Yes, especially the impact side makes a HUGE difference. Also ask for 5% so it comes down to 3%

WPP sub-agency is not giving me the
promotion salary I am asking for
despite running the entire department
for more than 2 years. The salary I am
asking for is what an external hire
would get, they are saying percentage
wise they can't do that "in the system
and also need to wait for annual
raises. Yet I've never once had an
annual raise at WPP w/o title change.
Anyone have any luck with this? I also
found out I am paid 15% less than my
male counterpart w/ same title, exp,
and less work.

I’m a cci edit coder. I currently have the RHIA registered health information administrator. I been thinking of studying for CCS certified coding specialist exam. But none of the jobs I’m interested in require CCS. They want someone that is familiar with data using excel tableau etc I know these things but I have not worked in a role. I guess my question is should I past this CCS exam then focus on trying to get experience as a data analysts or forget about the CCS?

Has anyone negotiated pay at a hospital or company that states they have different levels/tiers of fixed pay for so-and-so profession and can’t budge? I’ve worked in other fields prior to healthcare and have a hard time believing every (pick profession like PT) gets paid exactly (pick random number like $72,345). I’m skeptical because it sounds like “we have levels/tiers of fixed pay and can’t budge” is just an excuse to shut down negotiation right away. Can anyone share their experience?

So, I started watching “Limitless” with Chris Hemsworth. Apparently, he found out he carries both genes for dementia which puts him at a higher risk. So the series is about him changing things in his life for longevity. The third episode is about fasting and he fasts for 4 days until the day he has to hunt for his food. Does anyone in healthcare have thoughts on this type of fasting? I know it is done in some cultures and religions, but to what extent?

I am going to be starting a job working in an academic laboratory at a school in Western NY as a lab tech, and was offered 32k salary. I have a BS in Med lab science and have been working in clinical research for the past three years since school. Negotiating them to go higher has not been very successful so I’m hoping to get a sense whether this is a fair salary for my experience? Hi all! New to fishbowl and looking for some advice! I currently have 2 bachelors degrees and a Masters in Health Sciences. I have 7 years of inpatient healthcare experience and have started as a Data coordinator in solid tumor cancer research about 3 months ago. I get paid around $20/hr and am highly overqualified for basic data entry. However through out this process I’ve realized I love the science of what I do and want to possibly be a clinical scientist. Path/job suggestions?
