I’m an Operations Analyst looking to start thinking about my annual review and how to negotiate the standard 3%. Any advice on how to navigate this conversation when the time comes?

Stay confident. Know your value and be prepared to stand up for what you believe is fair. Be respectful, but don't be afraid to speak up for yourself.

When it comes to annual reviews and negotiations, it's important to always keep your goals in mind. Make a list of your accomplishments over the past year, as well as any areas where you feel you could use some development. This will help you present yourself as a strong, well-rounded candidate.

I always try to bring actual documentation of the impact I've made with my work. The more you can prove you're worth, the easier it will be to ask for an increase. Good luck!

like

Yes, especially the impact side makes a HUGE difference. Also ask for 5% so it comes down to 3%

Seriously considering canceling my Orangetheory membership and going back to a regular gym. After 3 years of replacing my light cardio and lifting with HIIT, I find myself less fit overall. I know diet is a big factor, but I was leaner before HIIT and the workouts this past year have been too cardio/tread heavy. Did anyone have a similar experience?

Hello! I’m currently a Administrative assistant now working at a major medical system in Baltimore. I’ve previously worked for 10 years as a medical assistant in a variety of specialties and primary care. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit stuck as to my next step. Part of me want to go into management, another part is saying go get your RN, and the other is saying go into Social Work. I’m all over the place. Any ideas? And how would I be able to cross over to management?

Hello, patient services representative here. I had moved hospital patient registration to the clinic so I can get benefits. I took a $6 dollar pay cut although I do work from home. I’m pretty knowledgeable on insurance and have a good understanding of how things work. I get paid about $21/hr and it’s just not enough money. I making ends meet working 80 hours a week. Im currently going to school full time and would like some input on what I should do.

Hi everyone, I just finished my masters degree a few weeks ago, and I’m looking for a new role. I obtained a bachelors degree in 2011 however that school closed and did not share records with WV higher education comission, neither are they at student clearinghouse. The school was accredited, during my time then lost accreditation a year after. (Mountain State University). Can anyone recommend how to handle this with HR if they can’t verify one of my degrees? Thank you!

Physical therapists…
What city do you practice in? How many years of experience? Current salary? What setting do you practice in? What are the differences in pay between different settings in your area (ie. outpatient ortho versus home care).
Personally I practice out patient ortho in Rochester, NY making $65,000 annually with a good benefit package. 6 years of exp. And not entirely sure how much more I could make in home care/other settings.

I am going to be starting a job working in an academic laboratory at a school in Western NY as a lab tech, and was offered 32k salary. I have a BS in Med lab science and have been working in clinical research for the past three years since school. Negotiating them to go higher has not been very successful so I’m hoping to get a sense whether this is a fair salary for my experience? I’ll be cutting my salary more than in half from my job in clinal research but trying to get into PhD program.

But none of the jobs I’m interested in require CCS. They want someone that is familiar with data using excel tableau etc I know these things but I have not worked in a role. I guess my question is should I past this CCS exam then focus on trying to get experience as a data analysts or forget about the CCS?

Hello! I have been working in research and policy for the last 3.5 years. Very keen and interested to make the shift to healthcare consulting - I interviewed with OW but didn’t pass the final round. I also interviewed with Deloitte, and cleared all the rounds, but at the end, they said they didn’t have any openings. If anyone has any leads for other firms, referrals, general advice, would really appreciate the help - thank you so much
