I'm an undergraduate hire who will be starting next September. I'm graduating in January and will have the following 9 months to do anything at all. What would you do if you had 9 months of freedom?

GMAT scores are good for 5 years. Study hard for a month and take that.

You can do a fast pass and pass the CPA exam in two months. Do that.

Hang out with friends and family as much as possible.

Resign from job offer. Move to deserted island. Live life free from consulting.

See the effing world and don't worry about skills, savings, etc.

Try grabbing an internship/full time in the meantime. 9 months is a long time and you're going to get used to vacation mode, will take a while to build work ethic back up once you start in sept. I would try to find a job similar to what you're doing at EY and use that to develop some solid skills so that you can be a rockstar new grad. You will perform very well among your fellow new grads if you do this.

Go to Asia. I went for two months- best choice ive made in years!

I was in the same situation as you. I requested for a January start date and I got it.

Take a couple of weeks vacation after you graduate to celebrate, then get back on the saddle and learn some skills that you can apply to your new job at EY. Right before you start your job take a month of and enjoy life! 😉

I had 9 months before I started work as well... Spent 6 months traveling abroad!

Join me and the start up.

I like these. Any specifics y'all would recommend? In terms of skills, certs, etc.

GMAT. EY is great, but there is much more.

@EY what means you

Please come back in 9 months

.

Learn some coding.

I spent time teaching in SE Asia before joining ACN- earn money, travel on weekends and breaks, meet awesome people, see the work

Hello everyone. I interviewed at Google last month and was rejected after the 2nd interview (non-tech role). I will definitely apply again after 6-12 months but since I didn’t make it to the on-site round, how likely are the chances that Google will reach out to me again in the near future?

I will also appreciate referrals at FAANG companies (non-tech business roles). My most recent role has been of an Executive (early professional stage). Thank you :)

Do people tend to age out of wanting to FIRE?

In your 20s-30s, you don’t know much, you’re told what to do, you have few financial resources so you are tied to your job. Under these circumstances it makes perfect sense why you would want to FIRE asap.

But eventually you advance up the ladder, you are now the boss and your people do all the grunt work. You also have built up expertise which makes the job easier. And you are making the best money of your life. FIRE is no longer so pressing.
