What is expected compensation for a 3rd year Director in New York in Accounting Advisory across Big 4?
What package does a 2nd year manager get at PwC Chicago Tax and what would be the joining bonus? How is the culture over in the office? Does Asians get fair treatment?
For those of you in house, do you actually read the articles written up by law firms? I’m constantly being asked to do this non billable work and I’m not in a place to reject and want to know the actual value of this exercise.
🐠's need Advise. I am tempted to move to another big 4 for better pay. Considering speaking to PPED regarding my compensation before making a decision. As a senior 2 earning 89K. Is that standard?
Anyone have slow months where you burn through a lot of your allotted pro bono/professional development hours to keep hitting minimum daily hours? The past few weeks have been like this for me. Should I be concerned (I.e., will this reflect poorly on me, come review time? Will I have dug myself too much of a hole if I keep burning my non-billable hours?) I’ve been asking partners if I can assist in any projects so I can fill my plate, but I’ve only gotten small (4-6 hour) tasks handed my way.
When your boss gives you 48 hours (clock hours not billable hours) to produce a viable objection to a MTD/compel arbitration in a complex commercial lit case, which is not my practice area, what kind of result is he expecting? From scratch, no template.
Ah! If the clients ever realize the number of billable hours wasted on making slides just ‘look’ pretty!!!!
Partner: I've been sitting on a request all week. You need to stop billable work and put together this deck today. And be quick about it. Cool? I thought so.
I'm finishing my first year as an associate in Minneapolis and am considering a move to Boston (originally from the East Coast). Can anyone in the area give some insight into general billable requirements, salaries, and quality of life as a young associate? Or just your experiences as Boston/NE attorneys. Thanks!
Let’s pretend we’re holding companies. I’ll start: No, we can’t hire an extra writer even though you’re clocking 70+ hours a week. BTW, our contract with your client caps billable hours per employee because they know we don’t pay overtime. Here’s a non-billable code you should start using for the rest of the year.
I am thinking of switch from plaintiff side work to defense work in employment litigation. Has anyone made this switch? Did you regret? We’re billable hours too much to handle? More in comments.
For those in FDD, TAS or even investment banking, is your performance still based on billable hours?
To those of you who have high billable requirements and are single, how do you manage your time? Especially those with pets.
I’m thankfully hitting my hours, but my firm keeps passing non-billable work my way. I am grateful for the opportunities, but this type of work always seems to find its way to the female associates at my firm. We have been told that non-billable work is irrelevant in terms of our annual hours. Any tips on how to navigate this in a thoughtful way? I want to be a team-player, but I believe that others need to step up to the plate.
I just started as a first year associate at a firm that does not have any organized pro bono, however there is an “uncapped” billable hours policy that would allow me to apply pro bono to my hours requirement. How would you suggest I go about getting into pro bono work? It’s my understanding it’s not done much at my firm.
Real talk: does anyone else find all the bragging about super high billable hours kind of sad? There is more to life and it just reads like life not being lived. 😔
Hey folks! Hope everyone is safe and sound. Who is working on billable work and who is on the bench ?
Anyone feel like maternity leave affected their raise and bonus? I don't feel like my numbers were adjusted and feel like I am getting the run around
I have an offer from MBB at my MBA program but I’d lose my sponsorship with LEK if accepted (they won’t match it). Interviewed for exposure. How easy would it be to lateral to MBB after I put in 2 post-years with LEK? Are the cases a little more relaxed then? The FOMO😖
What’s everyone’s summer (May-Sept) working hours - assuming you don’t have a 6/30 year end client. The partners expectation is 8-6:30 and logging on from home after that some days. Is that insane?
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Going into my first round of interviews with BCG a couple of weeks from now. Because of covid, the interviews (a fit and a case) will be over a video call. Any tip on how to handle the case interview on video rather in person?
Any big law firms offering full remote positions (post-pandemic) for corp/M&A associates? Other than WSGR, Husch, Fenwick or Orrick?
Do you know a reasonable non-union, production designer or props people in the NYC/BK/ LI area?
I need to revamp my intervention plan for foul language in the classroom. I can’t believe what these middle schoolers are saying and how little admin. does about it.
Hi Folks, What's reviews of Publicis Sapient. Like work culture and if there is hiring firing culture I am from ETL background and knowledge of Hive and basic spark and I will be working on cloud(attended training only, consider near to no knowledge) and spark development. Will you suggest me to join there? Technology stack may be good for me but it will be new & challenging for me. I am scared to join there because of job security and work life balance can be dying ( I can stretch not daily?
Do you think parental leave policies and the culture around it at your company are fair?
Hello fishes, How is the WLB, yearly hike, promotions in NTT data, HR told me that they dont give any bonus. How is the growth for SAP?
Clear is killing me at JFK. They are not only walking people to the front of pre✅, but the front of the line past security(before the metal detector) too. Then these noobs don't know how pre✅ works😭
Process assurance senior manager (now DAT)- what kind of career pivots could I make with a part time mba from NYU stern for a better salary outlook?
Just got a job offer in Dallas but only did virtual interviews because of COVID. I’ve never visited the city. Recommendations on the best area to live in for a single girl late 20s? Coming from DC where we have pretty distinct neighborhoods. I’ve been googling but it’s hard to tell which areas are more lively and better for single people.
Which of the big 4 + ACN pay the most for SAP?
What's the least work you've ever had to do on a project in a day-to-day basis? I feel like my current engagement is pretty slow but the client is happy, just want to keep myself grounded.
My dad is taking my mom to Amsterdam for her 50th birthday and I offered to use points for their hotel. I have SPG/Marriott platinum status. (Cont.)
