Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Get him rolled off the case

Well, if you’re as bad as he says, then just work with him, it will make his life difficult.

Send him on a wild goose chase hunting down data that doesn’t exist. Keep insisting it does.

Schedule emails asking for a deliverable to send between about 9 - 10PM. Follow up with a subsequent meeting invite for first thing the next morning to review.
Wow thank you all. This has made me feel better already 🤣. I'll let it go.
Chief
No need for misery. Just tell his project lead to roll this person off. If they ask why, tell them that you found out they were badmouthing you and you found out.

This. As the client you have so much more power than you realize, and the instrument you exercise it through is the engagement lead, not through personal vindictiveness.
Ok Blair Waldorf ... 🙄
Some hot girls in that show
Also in industry and have consultants that do 🤡 behavior like this. My honest advice would be to let it go, this ain’t worth your time or your political capital of having someone roll off. When you were a consultant I’m sure you talked bad about your clients from time to time as well.
Go to office when he's there
Reach 5 minutes late to a meeting with him
Say you had car trouble and ask for his help
Head down to the parking lot with him
Give him a 20$ and send him to fetch some blinker fluid
Have him rolled off the case if you’re sure he did what you allege. But also consider giving him a chance to come clean and explain himself (if you’re better than the average client).
Crazy they talked bad about you lol

Well no need to tell us why they talked bad about you, we can tell 🫢

But really though, we need more context.
You have less leverage that what you think you have
Ohh I love revenge
How about you handle the situation in a mature manner and talk to them about the perceived issues, as opposed to starting a battle for no reason? Nobody likes to be badmouthed, I get it… but why be petty?
Chief
A lot of people being offended clearly didn't realize it was a joke.

Can you do A1's suggestion followed by ACN1's? That would be epic!
I'd hate it if I were said consultant. Wait... am I said consultant??

Need more info, what did they say?
Well first, was what they said true?
