I got my Bachelors in Psychology a few years ago but I couldn’t find a position that seemed like a good option for me that was well paying and fulfilling. I tried working as a tech at an Applied Behavior Analysis clinic but it wasn’t a good fit. Hello! I’m currently a Administrative assistant now working at a major medical system in Baltimore. I’ve previously worked for 10 years as a medical assistant in a variety of specialties and primary care. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit stuck as to my next step. Part of me want to go into management, another part is saying go get your RN, and the other is saying go into Social Work. I’m all over the place. Any ideas? How different is litigating in-house vs. in private practice? Coming up on promotion eligibility- what should I be looking for?

Background: I’m in an engineering role where there only two of us for the entire organization, I could theoretically get promoted 4 or 5 times before I “cap out.” I started at the lowest level making ~70k. I know other organizations offer the next level at around ~90k. I really like my employer and ability to be fully remote, so I don’t necessarily want to switch companies.

My question is, what raise value would be too low?

I am learning Big Data at the moment, and have knowledge of Python and ML, AI, SQL, Tableau.

Have no knowledge of DSA though.

YOE 5 years. What are the next skills that I can aim for to get a much higher CTC, or is this enough and more practice and projects are enough?
