I’m burnt out from consulting. I found something I love (dream company, title jump, enjoyed getting to know all of my interviewers), but the position is a 6 month contract and a 25% hit on salary/40% hit on total comp. I’m lucky enough where the money doesn’t hurt (on parents insurance and living with family) and there is scope to extend the contract 3-6 months after the initial period. I’m planning on b school next year, so if I do this for 12 months I’ll take the summer off. What would you do?

I’d take it. Sounds like you’re young enough and have the family support to do it. The older you get the more obligations you have that would likely keep you from taking an opportunity like this. Take it, work hard, build relationships, enjoy your time off before grad school then kick butt in school. Good luck!

Personally I would do it
More time to focus on b school applications! Since it’s a contract role you should try to get the base pay up. It’s rare to see someone make less in these roles i thought..?

My final round with Deloitte for UK Tech Consulting Manager position soon. Strangely it’s not a PMD round as it usually is for other Big4/tech consulting firms.
1. Can anyone tell me if they’ve been through the whole process without speaking to PMD? (First round Sr Manager, second Case Interview by a manager and third again by a manager) 2. What is a typical salary to expect? I was asked in screening but kept it vague (e.g can discuss later bla bla). I was hoping 75-80 (ridiculous?)

PERM question.

Hi everyone I work at EY and have 3 YOE. EY started the perm process after 2.5 years, the role is for manager. It is standard that managers have 5 years of experience, does this mean that the green card will only be available in 2 years from now when you typically make manager (maybe 1 if early promoted)? From my understanding I have another 6 months with the PWD, Recruitment and then filing items, so it will be ready relatively soon. Just trying to make heads or tails of it.
