How can I pivot from working as an ad agency art director to a commercial director/DP? I’ve been getting invaluable experience at a boutique litigation firm. The only things is, the firm hasn’t evolved with work culture. The official policy is that everyone WFH one day each week with no choice of which day. Sometimes I’ll work from home more than one day a week and when I do, I feel paranoid because when I’m in the office, the partners will “walk the halls.” I would appreciate more flexibility and have a big law interview scheduled. Is this worth leaving? Btw, I’m a first year.

Went straight into ad agency work after college, 2 years into it and might be promoted soon. Though it’s a privilege, I’m really unmotivated and don’t look forward to work or finding a new job.

I am in-house (not agency), but I really like one of our account contacts at the agency we use and would love to try to recruit her, but am feeling like maybe this is unethical?? We gave notice to the agency in Dec that we’re taking everything in-house in Apr.

On the other end of a job where, despite my best efforts, I’m really unhappy with the quality of work I was given. I kept thinking if I pushed and proved myself I would get to do the work the “boys’ club” got to do - TV! broadcast! experiential! 360 campaigns! All of which I know I could be amazing at. Instead I got meh work for years. But I want to stay positive. This new stage of my career is exciting! So now - how do I go after all the experience I want?
