Hi everyone,
I need help trying to figure out what the right compensation is for a senior tax consultant at big4. I have worked 5 years in small accounting firm, and I am applying for experienced hired roles at big4 and wanted to know what the right salary would be. Thanks in advance.

You can do these things without paying for premium.
You gotta try and connect with their connections so you're a second connection and not a third. But yeah, depends on how they do their settings. Some will accept a connection request and never respond to a message. Just gotta keep trying, I guess.
I have heard very mixed reviews about LinkedIn premium, and it’s fairly pricey just for what it is in my opinion anyways. That being said, even if you do pay for that stuff, it’s still no guarantee of a job, and it can be hard to find the value in that. Referrals are a good step up, but again, nothing is guaranteed even with that.
AGREE!
Same with me! I have always rocked in sales, but, I don't have the job?!
I'm on all of the same platforms w the same jobs posted
Same here I really don't know what to do now.
I’ve found my last few jobs on ziprecruiter, with minimal LinkedIn presence.
You’re fishing in the wrong pond.
I have too. Times are different now even compared to two years ago. I’m struggling now more than when I had no sales experience at all.
You don’t need to have a massive network, but use your connections intelligently. Once you see a role you want, connect with someone at the organization and ask them to refer you to the role internally. You’ll have a much higher chance of getting an interview when referred from the inside. Good luck!
My whole post is about how I know this is what people are doing but it is absolutely ridiculous. My resume and skill should get me the job not who I know in the company. I also cannot pay such a large amount for the premium version. I can’t ever find the hiring managers email and the company won’t provide that information typically. I have tried doing what you said but got roadblocked.
The thing that is killing me is the assessments/personality tests. I never seem to past no matter if I’m being truthful or not. And I absolutely cheated on one of them so I still don’t know how I failed
I have the same problem. I have never been able to pass those tests, to the point if an application leads to it I just don't continue and look elsewhere. It's a waste of time to stress about my answers because no matter what I put, or change, it is a hard fail.
Yeah it's really hard at the moment. I have been trying to still no luck 🙃
Just make sure you have your banner #ReadytoWork is on for recruiters to see with a strong headline. I have recruiters after me nonstop as I do not feel very secure in my position due to my bosses' boss having it out for me for NO friggin reason. At my age and experience throughout my career plus all of the awards I have won at Dell, I have recruiters hit me up twice per week. One of my tricks is just liking every post to give myself more visibility. I also add every recruiter I see and continuously follow up with them even if I don't get the job that I was working on with that recruiter. I do not pay for LinkedIn Premium however I will occassionally sign up for the membership during free trials. Good luck!!
Would you be able to DM me your resume? I will respond with mine - or simply share your LI profile with me. Fellow seller(Tech / Advertising / Healthcare experience).
I’ve been experiencing this for four years now - as an always top performer with outstanding sales results I was often headhunted and always felt safe on this basis, however I’ve come to learn its no longer about results as the market has changed, with so many candidates on the market I think they now like to benchmark average
If you’re a standout chances are you might need to play down big achievements (crazy I know right!). I found this has been the only way thats worked for me in the current environment 🤷🏼♀️ I think we’re dealing with a new level of management proficient at networking and wanting to be the standout (ie: jobs for mates, and only I can be great 😬)
I have had to tone my resume down. Recruiters often think that you wouldn't be interested in a job because of previous performance or title. Getting a C title often hurts on the next search.
OP where are you located?

There is a setting on LinkedIn to allow recruiters to reach out to you about new opportunities! Maybe it’s turned off because I get blown up. Several emails weekly about new jobs
What and where are you looking for? I've turned down a couple of tech sales roles lately, so they're out there (though I'm with you, it's been a multi-month slog, which feels like I'm not selling myself as the product!).
Have you tried RepVue?
I’m looking for a remote job, I’m qualified for inside sales, SDR, Customer Service, but I don’t drive and cannot work anything requiring travel. I’m open to any schedule or field. I will look into RepVue thank you!
Create a consulting role or something for linkedin. A lot of recruiters will not look at you unless you are working. Stupid huh?
LinkedIn is free. Just have your banner lit. Add every recruiter you see and then start liking every post because recruiters are looking for people with that flag. Id also make sure you have a shit ton of professional referrals on your LinkedIn. I have 10 be ause I begged people for them lol. You also need a niche! If you look back at your total career is there one thing you did at every job? My niche is Channel sales because I have never done Direct Sales and there's a shit ton of Channel jobs. So my linked in says my current company and position followed by / Channel Sales and Partner Relationship Specialist. (Ever since I put that I started getting a lot of recruiters). I also posted images of work trophies I won while at Dell which I think helps.
Yeah it’s crazy, I’ve been on the hunt for the past going on 7 months now and it’s hard for me and other people I know to also find a job bc if fast food places are rejecting you for empl then there is something wrong or going on. I 1,00% agree with you on what you’re saying. I have rent bills, kids and other things to worry about and pay and I can’t find a single job anywhere near or far and it’s crazy.
It's a hard market right now, so personal branding does help.
Indeed, is always be successful for me great platform
Absolutely!! People think LinkedIn but Indeed is great. I found my current job using indeed after months of trying only LinkedIn without success
I use Linkedin all the time. You don’t need Premium as there is a workaround. Experiment - you will figure it. Build up your contact base & to do lots of interesting posts. As for personality tests, don’t try to fake them. But you can alter results by getting yourself in a positive mind frame first. All that said, if you are getting rejection after rejection; just STOP. it’s a downward spiral. Do something, anything, maybe do volunteer charity work. Rebuild, recharge & then go in for the kill. Top tip, do interviews for jobs you DONT want for interview practice & buy a book on how to win in interviews. All tactics, all to be learned. Head up, you got this :-)
You could explain how instead of dangling a carrot in front of me. Also, some people need money to live. I’m not going to “just stop and volunteer at a charity” I have bills and people depending on my income to literally survive. Not everyone is privileged enough to be able to be out of work for long periods of time. I also am bringing attention to the fact that needing to have someone one the inside refer you is wrong. Jobs should go to who is skilled and qualified not who uses a social media platform. I don’t use social media for personal reasons and having a non-anonymous profile with my name location and work history would create problems for me. (Already has before) I’m very good at doing my job and I work hard. I got the most positive feedback from customers, I’ve trained coworkers, I made new processes and scripts, I’ve got the highest AOV/revenue, I have great attendance, I’m a team player, etc. That should be enough.
I am in the same boat - it is an abysmal job market right now.
